I've been thinking...actually, it's been more of a feeling than a thinking . I am where I'm supposed to be. After years of uncertainty, of feeling that something was not quite right but never being able to put my finger on what it was - I have a sense of belonging . Of satisfaction . Of being in the right place, with the right man, at the right time. That all the crap I went through last year may just have been life's way of trying to show me that I wasn't where I ne...
Peoploe who clog up the aisles at the grocery store. I just got back from there, and I swear the same rules ought to apply there that apply on the road. Keep to the right, wait your turn, don't pull out to pass a stopped cart unless there's nothing coming in the other direction...even turn signals would be a good idea. And brake lights. And fines for flagrant voilators of the rules. Ooh, we could have a whole new section of law enforcement - aisle police. We c...
People who can't stay in one lane when they're driving. They meander from lane to lane, riding the center line...and making me very nervous. People who have never been to the US, and who's only knowledge comes from what they see on TV or read in the paper...but who think it's ok to slam pretty much everything this country does and says, all the while declaring their country to be morally, intellectually, socially and democratically superior. It's ok to hate the US. Everyone ...
I was doing something very important. I was making my contribution to the world's population and giving birth to a whopping boy-child without the aid of narcotics or epidurals (I know I go on about that, but YOU try doing it and then you'll have some kind of idea of what a feat it is). David Alexander made his debut at 18000 (British time) on Sunday, September 11th 1994. I had been sorta kinda in labor for a couple of days, but when I went into labor proper I went fast - 5 cms t...
Well, I'm glad to see that you haven't all killed each other... What’s up, JU-ers? Long time no talk, huh? Well, we’re all moved in here at Scott AFB in the Great State of Illinois. We landed on our feet and moved into a 4 bedroom, 2-bath house less than a week after we got here. Our new home is really not bad…older, yes, but that works with my rustic decorating style. It’s also one level, so there ar...
Our time here in Indiana comes to an end tomorrow. Duty calls, and Dave, the kids and I are heading off to Scot AFB tomorrow morning so he can sign in to the squadron and we can start the next leg of our lives together. This week will involve signing for a house (if they have one available), setting up cable, phone and internet services, arranging for shipment of our belongings (and hoping that they haven't broken anything), seeing about getting a second vehicle, and enrolli...
I pointed out a pair of Uggs to Dave when we were shopping the other day. He gave me a funny look and asked me what I'd wear them with. When I said "everything" the look got even funnier and he said that if I could show him another person wearing such god-awful ugly boots he'd buy me some. This evening, we saw 3 different people on TV wearing Uggs with sweats, jeans and skirts. So, tomorrow, I get some Uggs. Ha!! hahaha!!!!! Hmm..should I be traditional and get the tan...
Holy cats it's hot in Indiana! Actually, it's not so much hot as it is humid. That's the part that's killing me. And, along with humidity come....bugs!!! Voracious mosquitos - I think I had 20 bites at the last count, and that's despite my wearing 'Off' 24 x 7! Slugs the size of....umm.....well, they're big. Nasty, icky, slimy things. Mantis', crawling on the fence post at my in-law's house. Dave was poking at one earlier and it ran up his arm, causing h...
Well, we managed to escape from the vortex that is Ellsworth AFB....and we made it from SD to Indiana in 2 days. We left Ellsworth at 1140 local time on Thursday morning (passed the housing inspection the first time, yay!) and we arrived in Vincennes, southern Indiana yesterday afternoon at 1500 local time. No problems with the car, not too many problems with traffic, the kids were great...I'm just never staying in the Best Western in Newton, Iowa agin (I'll tell you more later). ...
This is probably going to be my last article for a while. I just wanted to stop in and let you all know that Dave got home safely...and that thus far the reunion is going outstandingly well! It's pretty amazing...it's almost like I'm falling for him all over again. I guess that's all I have to say for now....I'll try and stop in again when we get to my in-law's place next weekend. Lot of love to all of you..... Dharma
This blog is dedicated to the mullet, and all the mullet stylin' dudes...may you wear your mullets with pride (and give the rest of us hours more entertainment)! First, we have the 'Play some Skynrd, dude!' mullet. The wearer of this mullet usually owns a Camaro or Firebird and has a penchant for black t shirts and hi-top tennis shoes: Next, we have the 'I'm just gorgeous' mullet. The wearer of this style can be identified by his excessive use of 'Old Spice' and 'Aqua Net' hair...

The battle with my neighbors finally got to me last night. I spent the evening in tears because of what happened yesterday afternoon. I was walking back from my friends house with me youngest son, and saw my neighbor (Stupid Girl) and her friends (The Black Elk Bitches) sitting across the street in someone's front yard. As I was walking up my driveway, Stupid Girl stands up, points and me, and yells "Look at her. She's such a stupid fucking bitch. She fucking called to...
My husband called at 0445 this morning to tell me he'd be home tonight. Yay!!! This 'annus horriblis' is almost over! I'm so glad he's on his way home. I'm in desperate need of some affection. I haven't been kissed in 7 months... that's terrible! Now I'm wondering if I should dress up or not. Should I go for the casual look and wear jeans and a T shirt, or shall I smarten up a bit and wear pants and heels? Or, should I wear a dress? It'...
Dave comes home tomorrow. I've waited over a year for this auspicious event. He left on August 3rd last year, and since then I've seen him for a whole 2 1/2 weeks. I've been daydreaming of this reunion for months. I wanted everything to be perfect - well, as perfect as reality gets. I didn't want to be ill. I have a bit of a temperature, a scratchy throat, and a headache. The back of my nose feels funny, like it usually does right before I get a snotty nose and ...
