People who can't stay in one lane when they're driving.  They meander from lane to lane, riding the center line...and making me very nervous.

People who have never been to the US, and who's only knowledge comes from what they see on TV or read in the paper...but who think it's ok to slam pretty much everything this country does and says, all the while declaring their country to be morally, intellectually, socially and democratically superior.  It's ok to hate the US.  Everyone is entitled to do that (and that's another great thing about America, you can say you hate it here without fear of persecution or reproach) - but to constantly point out what we as a nation are doing wrong despite the fact that they have never been here...that really pisses me off.

People who apologize, but do so on their terms.  "I'm sorry for what I said, but you did deserve it"....yeah.  You can take that and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.  Apologize, and do so meaningfully, or don't bother.  Anything less is just for show, and is ultimately an exercise in stroking your own ego.

Elderly drivers.  Bless them , I'm glad that they're getting around unassisted...but darn it, some of them are downright dangerous.  I think that there should be a new rule - if you can't find the bathroom in your own home, or if you can't remember your own name some days, then you shouldn't be allowed to hold a driver's license.

Squirrels.  I like them, they're cute and all...but they've gnawed through the lid if my garbage can and have started to fling poo at me when I'm in the yard.  I'll be glad when the dog gets here - then again, the squirrels are bigger than he is, so perhaps he'll be the one getting terrorized!!

I have more, many more...but I have to go feed the family.  I'll be back.....

One thing I've seen recently at work is when a student apologizes, they often say something like 'I'm sorry you were offended'. Like it's the recipients fault! Not 'I'm sorry that I offended you. It was wrong, and I won't do it again'.

Wow, I hear you dharma. Squirrels who fling poo. I mean, can it get more horrible than that? Sorry, that just conjured up such great images. Little, red eyed, bushy tailed demons defecating and going scatological all over the place. I just had to work that one into my response somewhere.

Seriously though, I really have a hard time with bad drivers all around. Old, young, whatever. If they are stupid I lose my patience mighty fast. As far as apologies go, if it ain't sincere don't waste my time and your breath. Tell the family hello from us all in NC!

Peter!!  How the heck are you!  And how's the gorgeous family of yours?!

Yes, we have squirrels who fling poo.  They also raid garbage cans, and chew tires and window seals on cars and trucks.  We're not supposed to feed them...but I'd rather give them a few bits and pieces of food voluntairily than have them steal from the trash.  They have squirrel fights under my tree (apparently they're territorial) and squirrely races up and down the street.  They're very cute, really...apart from the poo throwing, that is.

How is life in NC?

"Poo flinging squirrels" would be a good name for a rock band.

They could do a rock cover of the soon to be a country music hit - Daddy Drinks Because You Cry

Yeah, big, agressive, RATS with fancy tails.

Yep, as I tell my kids, they're nothing but rats with fluffy tails.  I'll have to try the owl poo....maybe a decoy owl in my tree would help a bit.

They're still fun to watch - as long as they're in someone else's yard.

Just emailed you Karen.

And to be honest I just wanted to talk about the squirrels because I love using the word scatology. Fun, fun word there. For some reason it brings up images of monkeys sitting in a big room throwing their feces at each other and anyone who tries to come in.

Yes, there is a story behind that. I don't just think that way all the time.

"turd-burglers"

little whip, I am sure glad I had finished my glass of ginger ale before I read that. I snorted as it was, just imagine the horrors of snorting with a mouth full of ginger ale.

The horror, the horror!

There once were two squirrels flinging poo
Then one screamed " I know what we'll do! "
They found Eyore and Tigger,
as their beast eyes grew bigger,
Those squirrels flung ol' Winnie the Pooh!

There once were two poo-flinging squirrels;
At all strangers they'd chuck their brown pearls.
Dharma mentioned these critters
Not because they're such shitters,
but to see what she gets for referrals.
