I'm reading Donald Neale Walsh's 'Friendship with God'.  I'm embarking on my own friendship with Him.  It's hard.  I have in my head the dogma of my youth....the rules and rituals of the Anglican church, the stuff I was taught in confirmation class about angry and vengeful gods...the things I saw and heard in Baptist churches about fire and brimstone, about homosexuality and adultery, about the sins of the fathers being visited on the sons.... I'm having difficulty...

It's true!  All the assumptions that have been made about me by certain fictional characters are true. I am a housewife. I stay home and take care of my home and my family. I am the queen of the kitchen, the mistress of the mop, the CEO of the toilet bowl. I am a nurse, a doctor, a pharmacist, a chef, a maid, a teacher, a landscaper, a chaueffer, a veterinarian, an interior decorator, an accountant, a seamstress, a nutritionist, a mechanic, a maintenance person.... I...

Henry's first couple of nights at home have gone...well, noisily.  He's being crate trained, and he's howled and cried intermittently most of the night.  It doesn't bother me too much, I know that he's not hungry, thirsty, or cold and that he doesn't need to go to the bathroom - that he's just lonely and crying for attention.  The kids however...Jake was almost in tears last night.  "it hurts me to hear him cry, mom" he said.  I haven't given in , and Henry eventual...

The military has successfully screwed up Dave's pay again. We went to check his pay statement online, and there's almost $1100 more in there than there's supposed to be. We were entitled to more money this month because we moved, and weren't living in military housing for 2 weeks - therefore we get housing allowance for those 2 weeks.  I looked to see how much it was based on his rank, and it's around $800 amonth.  Divide that by 2, and you get $400.  Not $1100.  ...

Yes, I did....I made a pie. This is newsworthy because, as anyone who knows me can tell you, I have horrible pastry making skills.  My pasty has always resembled concrete, and hasn't tasted much better.  No-one would eat it - and I don't blame them. I bought an Amish recipe book when we were in Indiana recently, and decided I'd have another go at pastry making using a recipe I found in it for pie dough. It worked!!!  I made a blackberry pie today that has a pastry crust l...

I got my puppy today..... His full name is Henry Ignatius...we call him Henry.  I haven't figured his kennel name out yet.  Any hints or suggestions are welcome... He even peed when we took him outside!

I ran a series of these this past spring.  I feel like reviving it.... I'm going to try and grow my hair out to about shoulder length.  After the bad haircut experience a couple of months ago I'm wary of letting anyone get the scissors near my barnet. I used to play the trumpet when i was in HS. I have had 8 sugeries so far.  I'm running out of spare parts....the only thing I have left that I can comfortably live without is my spleen.  The rest of it has gone bad...

I have declared war on the squirrels. I caught them digging up my daffodil and crocus bulbs this morning.  They had eaten some on the spot, and had made off with the others and taken them up to their nest.  I don't know how many they managed to pilfer before I busted them, but I do know that even after I had gone out and chased them off they came back for some more.  I sat at my kitchen window and watched one particularly bold one dig around in the flower bed....then I hammered...

I wrote an article about people having nasty houses (and I mean filthy houses): Link It got me thinking about my pet peeves around the house are. I don't like a dirty tub.  I have to take a bath in a clean tub...and I get so paranoid about it that often I'll wipe out the bathtub before I run a bath, just to be sure it's clean. I don't like it when the cushions on the couch are haphazardly tossed all over.  I'm just not comfortable sitting on a messy couch. But my absolute...

I've been watching this show on Lifetime called 'How clean in your house'.  These 2 British women go into people's houses and clean up after them, all the time making clucking noises and disparaging comments about "filth" and "pigstys". And they're right.  I'm not the worlds best housekeeper, but I'm not filthy, nor is my home dirty.  I can sleep at night knowing there are a couple of plates and a mug in the sink, and I don't freak out over a little dust... sometimes my&nb...

I'm in the process of transforming my yard. The previous resident had planted chrysanthemums, lobelia, pansies, ornamental grasses and a couple of shrubs and had neglected to do anything else with them.  The first weekend we were here I tried to corral them a little, but it just wasn't working...besides, I'm allergic to 'mums.  So, they all got pulled up this past weekend and I'm starting all over. Someone in the past also put gravel down in the beds...in an attempt to inhibit we...

Dave and I are watching 'The Surreal Life' re-run on VH1. Brigitte Nielsen - that chick that married Sylvester Stallone, that big Amazon-looking chick - is in it.  I have to say that time hasn't treated her well.....and she insists on walking around in nothing but a thing and grinding her crotch on and at everything that moves. She hits on men (and women) indiscriminately ..... she is, to be blunt, sickening.  Nasty.  She makes me cringe. Brigitt...

I've been meaning to recount this little tale for a while now, but I kept forgetting.  As many of you knew, my neighbors in South Dakota were...well, they were bitches, to be blunt.  What I'm about to tell you will reinforce that... It was moving day, and the truck pulled up.  Because we had a double-wide driveway, the truck would have been blocking the neighbor's car in.  Dave being the decent person that he is, went over to see if Bitch-Next-Door wanted to move her c...

I've deleted my blacklisted.  Everyone that was on there has been removed, and my blog is open to all.  Why?  Because I want to see what happens.  I'm curious......
