This is Marguerite Perrin. In case you haven't seen her yet, she recently took part in a Fox TV show called 'Trading Spouses'. The premise of this show is that 2 women who have never met before trade families with each other for a week. To be honest, it hasn't really caught my attention....until Marguerite came along, that is. Marguerite is a bit of a radical when it comes to her religion. She's very into her god, is Marguerite. Believes that the ...
'Always look on the bright side of life...' I'm trying really hard to do that today. I hate the days before he leaves. We're always on eggshells, each of us trying to make our last day together for a while be what the other ants it to be so that we don't part on bad terms, so that we have good memories of this day to help see us through the lonliness that accompanies each separation. So, I'm trying to see the good things that will come from/with this TDY. First of...
I was at the BX looking for PC games earlier today, and I found the Gold Edition of The Dark Age Of Camelot for $4.97....and I thought that it was too good to be true, so I bought it. It's the original DAOC plus 'The Shrouded Isle' expansion pack. I've read and heard some decent things about DAOC. I've been wanting to take the plunge and get into a MMORPG fir a while, but have always felt a little intimidated. I know some WOW players in real life, and, having listened to the...

I don't know who this 'Alternative News' person is, or why they felt the need to flood the 'recent articles' list with one paragraph (and sometimes one sentence) articles.....but I wish they wouldn't do that. Do they not know that it's just not good blog-iquette to do such a thing? That it's somewhat rude and incredibly frustrating? I suppose not...in which case, I guess I should tell them. *Ahem*... Ahoy Hoy there, Sixy?! Could you please pace yourself when it com...
Dear Dave, I'm sitting in our bed, trying to click away at the keyboard as quietly as I can so that I won't wake you. You are, as usual, snoring away next to me. You're the only person I know who snores no matter what position they lie in, did I ever tell you that? I think that I must have, we've talked about your nocturnal rumblings often enough. I know that I complain about your snoring, but I think that you know I secretly like it. It's very comforting to struggl...

My husband reads 'Backwoods Home' magazine online fairly regularly. Whilst he was perusing it this morning, he came across an article by a man named Dave Duffy that I think accurately sums up the role of the government in any national disaster or catastrophy. ( Link ) You can read the article in it's entireity by following the link, but I've copied and pasted some of what I felt to be the best parts. 'Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath said what I could not have said convincin...
I woke up at 5 this morning, pretty sore from all the walking we did last night. I waited until 6, then applied the first patch to my upper arm. It takes 15 - 17 hours for the medication to reach it's peak levels in my bloodstream, so for today I'll have to take some percocet if I need pain relief (and I do, so I took some). I'm keeping an eye on myself and how I'm feeling, and won't take any percocet after about 4 this afternoon. I guess the real test of how well...
It rained all day today here. The roads and sidewalks were covered with puddles, some of them 3 or 4 inches deep. The kids came home from school, all excited about going trick or treating. Dave and I were going to ask them if they'd prefer that we took them, all dressed up, to WalMart and got them a giant size bag of candy each....but after seeing how their little faces lit up as they donned their costumes we decided that we'd brave the rain and the cold and take them trick or tre...

Yesterday was the second anniversary of what I've recently started to think of as my rebirth. I had an accident that should have killed me. But, as you can see, it didn't, and I'm finally almost all healed from it. What have I done in the past 2 years? I've fixed myself, and that took some time. Now that I'm almost done being fixed, I have plans. I'm going to take a medical transcription class so that I can have a source of income (and possibly work from h...
"To the people of Baghdad: We come here not as conquerors but as liberators, to free you from generations of tyranny". Those words were posted on a wall in Baghdad by a soldier. A British soldier. Not this year, or even last year. Not even in the last 5 years. Those words were written by General Stanley Maude in 1917 when the British invaded Iraq. 1917, people. Almost 90 years ago. Obviously, the liberation failed. If it had been succ...
My husband is off again the week after next. He's going to the NCO Academy. It's the kind of school where they groom him to become a senior NCO. He'll spend 6 weeks down south, so he'll be gone over Thanksgiving and home in time for Christmas. He's driving down, however, so he might be able to come home for the holiday weekend, which would be fabulous. I don't want to let him go again. I don't want to conduct a relationship via the phone (we have a national plan and...
