I am so mad I can hardly string together a sentence. Nick Berg.  Dead.  Decapitated, on TV, by members of Al Queida. In retaliation, supposedly, for the prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib.  As much as I am ashamed at what happened in that prison and think that the perpetrators of the abuse should be held accountable for their actions....I am still outraged at this atrocity.  And I don't understand why more people aren't.  That's all I can say for now.  ...

This link takes you to a plain English explanation of the Law of Armed Conflict.  If you have any interest in the war in Iraq whatsoever, I'd highly recommend you read it. Link To all those who believe the personnel at Abu Ghraib should be found innocent because they were "just following orders", please take note: SECTION VII- Consequences We all have an individual duty to know the law of armed conflict and to follow the rules.  This includes reporting suspected viol...

According to recent reports, it would seem that Abu Ghraib was more like a swingers club than a jail.  PFC England's sexual interest was not just limited to SPC Graner, the purported father of her child...but extended to the prisoners and other active duty men in her batallion.  The New York Post has quoted an anonymous member of Congress as saying that among the images of abuse were numerous pictures of PFC England having sex with numerous partners. “It appeared to be consen...

The relatives of the Iraqi POW's at Abu Ghraib have stated that those American soldiers involved should be tried under Iraqi law and put to death for their crimes. “This court will not bring justice, it’s nonsense. They should be tried by the Iraqis. According to Islamic law, they should be executed.” said Sharhabil Abdul-Rahman, brother of a POW housed at Abu Ghraib (and a former detainee himself). Of course the Iraqi people are calling for blood.  Of course they see American Justice...

I read an article in a British newspaper this morning about a new Lingerie Football League. (there's a couple of nice pictures in that article....) Link Apparently lovely ladies have signed up not for the traditional role of cheerleaders, but as players.  They don't wear the traditional pads and spandex, they wear bras and garter belts instead. I'm not a dude, but it would seem to me that this is the best of both worlds for guys.

This is the final installement in a series of articles I've written about online pedophiles. In the first one Link   I talked about how vigilante busts aren't really the best way to put a stop to this problem. In the second one Link     I described my own personal experience with pedophilia in a teen chat room. In this last one I'd like to offer up some suggestions on how to keep your kids safe on the internet...without the assistance of filtering programs such as '...

Chief Edwards was as good as his word, and today we got an assignment. We are going to Scott AFB, Illinois...our first choice because of it's proximity to Dave's family and his hometown. I'm sitting here crying because I'm so relieved/happy/excited....my children will get to see their grandparents, we will get to visit on holidays...at last, we will be close to family. Dave doesn't even know, he's attending a function for the Queen of Denmark so hasn't heard the news yet.  I can't...

I was thinking this afternoon, after writing that article about my 11 year old getting hit on at the pool....(that wood burning smell that some of you might have experienced was me thinking.  Hope it didn't alarm you all too much) When did it become ok to view 13 year old pubescent girls as sexual objects?  Or even 14, 15 or 16 year olds?  Apparently it's happened, and is still happening.  Look at the amount of pedophila we have on the net.  Look at the clothing being...

We were watching some new show earlier, and a segway about Wacko Jacko getting some woman pregnant with quadruplets came on. "Oh my.." said my 9 year old- going-on-40-something son "I know why he's doing that.  He's just trying to get more kids to molest.  He makes these babies with the moms then tells the moms he hates them, sends the moms away, keeps the babies and molests them.  Then the kids grow up and molest other kids because they were molested when they were k...

I've been following with interest the furor of reports surrounding the fate of Lynndie England, the female Army Reservist pictures absuing and torturing Iraqi POW's. It made me wonder how this small-town girl from West Virginia came to such notoriety.  What series of unfortunate events led her to be pictured grinning like a loon, cigarette hanging from her slack-jawed mouth, pointing to the genitals of a naked, hooded man?  How did she come to have her photo taken dragging another n...

I've decided that I'm going to apply for US citizenship.  I'm tired of being taxed like any other American, but not being able to vote.  So, I'm off to download the application forms and see how much I need to save up in order to file.  As with everything else, there are fees.  It wasn't cheap to get into this country, and it's not going to be cheap to get citizenship.  I suppose they have to get every cent out of you that they can, while they can...and I also suppos...

I've made this point time and again, but it keeps getting glossed over, so I'm going to officially go on record with it this time: I'm not anti-public assistance.  Far from it.  I'm an avid supporter of help being given where help is needed.  I've dontated time, money, and even the clothing off my back to help if i've thought that it's been needed.  I've never asked for recognition for it, I prefer to do my giving quietly, but today I was accused of having an attitude...

Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld has called the 2005 installation closure list 'the mother of all closures'.  Roughly 100 bases, posts and stations are slated to close, saving the government up to $6.5 billion.  You can check out what the projected list looks like here: Link The base we just moved from is on there.  Ellsworth needed to close years ago.  It's a tiny base, it has a limited function...the planes that are stationed there could easily be incorporated into...
