She's a 9 week old purebred boxer pup.  We're making the decision about her name this evening, but right now Grace/Gracie (because she's a wee bit clumsy yet), Maggie (the name of the girl in 'Million Dollar Baby' - the girl boxer, geddit?), or Ginger (because she's a sort of ginger color) are the front runners.  Of course, we could come up with something completely different...but we DO know that as of tomorrow morning she will have a name.

We have a winner!  Her name is Grace, aka Gracie.

Looks a little like my Hamu. Great breed, there built like tanks but with lightning speed. They can do some damage if you don’t train them well.

You have to out smart her to get that football, a direct assault will not work I don’t care who you play for.

Congratulations and sweet puppy dreams

she's adorable Dharma. I just love brand new pups. Makes me want to go out and get one but my Quincy is enough doggie for me right now. He get's into lots of trouble all by himself.

Congrats on your new addition.

Cute, even for a boxer. Hence the term "pug-ugly", right?

sweet lookin pup

Thanks, we think so too.  She's just awesome, MM.  She slept all night at the end of our bed, and she didn't cry once.  She woke up right before 6, so I took her outside and she went potty, came back in and went right back to sleep for another hour and a half.  She's pooped on her potty training mat without having to be told where to go at...she's a really, really good puppy so far.

sweet!

Yeah, I can't resist that scrunched up little face!

Yeah, her mother was there when we went to get her, and they had 2 other boxers too....they were great looking dogs.  We're looking forward to playing ball with her!

I know, I can't resist picking her up and hugging her.

Thanks, but foundation does wonders....!  Actually, I've been using some organic cleanser and firming moisturizer, and it's been working really well.  I'm having a lot of 'good skin days'...

Well, he was cool with her yesterday, but when he got up this morning and found that she was still her he was grumpy and sulky.  He growled at her when she went to play with him, but now he's chilled out a little.  yesterday when we took them both out they were playing hard together - and I think that's going to be the shape of things to come once he stops regarding her as an interloper who's come to steal his King-Of-The-House crown.

Yeah, they're so ugly they're cute!

What a cutie!

Oooh, you big flirt you!  Thank you for the compliments, though.

I love boxers. They are the most sweetest-natured dogs and are great with kids too. But I'm biased 'cause I had boxers as a kid.

Awww!  She's so cute!  We were thinking about getting another dog now that Quincey has been gone for awhile, but then we found out that my Holly dog had a shunt that was diverting blood away from her liver.  It was a birth defect, but just got to the point of showing signs.  So, instead of getting a new pup, we forked out $5,000 to get her surgery.  (Ack!)  She's starting to feel better, though.  She had surgery last Tuesday and got back home Thursday night....but that's it's own blog LOL

Can you jar some puppy breath and send it to me?

Now if you get another and name him George, you will have your own Vaudeville act!

She's adorable.

You know, we had originally wanted to get an English Bulldog, but after doing some research found that they can have some significant health issues.  So, add that to the fact that I'm not prepared to buy a dog sight unseen...and we dropped the idea of getting a EB.  Last friday night Dave said 'what about a boxer?'...and I did some reading about them, found a breeder with a litter that were ready to go to new homes, called her, went out to see her Saturday afternoon, and the second we walked in the door Cupid shot his arrow and his aim was true.  She was one of a litter of 10, and there were 3 girls and 1 boy left when we got there.  The boy was the alpha dog, and knew we didn't want that. One of the girls had a white face, and the second I went over to her she nipped me and continued to nibble and chew any and everything she saw.  Having had a bad experience with a dog like that before, I knew she wouldn't be coming home with us.  So, it was down to Gracie and her sister.  Dave picked Gracie up, and....she rested her head on his shoulder and was perfectly happy to sit there.  He looked at me, and I knew that she was the one.

Thus far, she has been the best pup we've ever owned.  She sleeps at the end of our bed, and she'll sleep from about 10pm until 6, right through the night.  She's only peed on the rug twice, and has used her potty training mat every single time she's had to poop - except for today, and then she pooped outside.  She's just awesome.  My only regret is that we didn't get a boxer sooner.

then we found out that my Holly dog had a shunt that was diverting blood away from her liver. It was a birth defect, but just got to the point of showing signs. So, instead of getting a new pup, we forked out $5,000 to get her surgery.

Cripes!  I'm glad that you caught it in time and that she's okay now.  Holly is the corgi, yes?

Can you jar some puppy breath and send it to me?

Oh man....I don't think I'll ever get tired of smelling that milky puppy breath.  If I could I'd have Gracie keep that their whole lives.

Now if you get another and name him George, you will have your own Vaudeville act!

Yeah, we had thought about that.  We've decided that her kennel name (for the AKC) will be 'Hail Mary Full Of Grace'.

What a cutie

Thank you!  So far, only one person has said that she's ugly, and he about got slapped for saying it.

Why didn't you tell me she was Catholic!
