We're all sick.

Jake started coughing and feeling iccky over the weekend. He stayed home from school yesterday, and he slept half the day away.

Davey said he felt rough, so he too got the day off school.

Shea started feeling ill last night, and I started throwing up around midnight.  I dozed fitfully all night, and when 6 am rolled around nobody was feeling any better, so we all stayed home today.  The couch and love seat has been occupied by someone's aching body all day today....everyone moped around and complained about headaches and tummy aches, runny noses and coughs and feeling like they were going to throw up.

When I spoke with Dave earlier this evening he said that he felt like he was coming down with something too.  So, whatever this virus is, it's got us all feeling poopy.

We don't usually all get sick at the same time.  Normally our illness is staggered...one gets sick, then as they start to feel better someone else starts to feel bad.  A common cold can affect our household for a month, which really gets tiresome after a while.  Being ill all the same time is unusual for us....and whilst I complain about illnesses lasting for ages this being ill all together is for the birds.  It sucks.  The kids need me to play nurse for them, even though I'm feeling like death warmed over myself.

Luckily there's no school for the rest of the week, so we can all sleep in for as long as need to tomorrow and spend the rest of the day lounging around and recuperating.  Unless there's some drastic change overnight I know that I'm not going to feel like doing much of anything tomorrow and I'm sure that the kids feel the same way.

Blech.  Why does this always happen when Dave's gone?

Hope you start feeling better.

My kids almost always get throw up sick when my husband is gone. In ten years he's only cleaned barf up one time.

Pfft. Amateur.

(((((D)))))) and ((((((KIDS))))))

Get better.

We're getting it too, it's the change of seasons. I always get really ill for the months that change summer to fall, fall to winter, etc.
Hang in there. This too shall pass...

Im sick too...been coughing and have junk in my throat (probably lungs) for the past month. Cant afford to go to the doc. Grr. Now that I got a full time job...I dont get health coverage as a benefit. I can buy coverage for about 1/3 of my monthly pay which isnt possible; and I cant get Minnesota Care coverage either since Im fully employed. Gotta love that...and bronchitis! My new health insurance - Orange juice!!

I remember my wife and I getting sick at the same time, and the Kids were fine!  Try keeping up with them when you feel like poop!  I know you have it hard tho just feeding them medicine.

And just a question.  Why are they out of school for the rest of the week?  Just curious.

Movie rentals, OJ, and big fluffy pillows and blankets in the living room.

It sucks that you're all sick
Get well soon.

I hope you all feel better soon. Movies and eating popcorn is good. Don't even worry about keeping house or any such things, these are the times when you just have to get lots of rest and drink a lot of fluid. I know Dave being there would have been better for you, don't worry, you're gonna be ok.

That's exactly what I'm doing.  Then dishes can wait until I'm feeling halfway human.

Movie rentals, OJ, and big fluffy pillows and blankets in the living room.

That's the plan for today as well!

Veterans Day on Friday, and the school convieniently tacked on and extra 2 days off under the premise of patent teacher conferences.  Ours are today....but I don't think that we're going.  I'd really prefer not to infect everyone else!

This too shall pass...

Yeah, it will.  It's just not pleasant in the meantime!

Dave's a sympathetic puker, so he stays away from vomit or else I'll have 2 pools of barf to clean up instead of 1!

Oh that's terrible. Hope you all feel better soon! I can't imagine how hard it would be to take care of others who are sick when you yourself are sick and most likely can't even take care of yourself. I know when I am sick, I (as an adult!!) still like to be babied and taken care of. I can get quite selfish and sorry for myself when I don't feel well. I am goign to be so bad at this when I have kids!!

((((((((((((((((((((((Dharma)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Praying you all feel better in no time. It sucks to be sick... especially when your family needs you and you can't just curl into a ball and sleep it away.

Heh...well, I have been sick with everything that I have come in contact with.  I've had several viruses and strep throat (daughter was sick with a virus for a week while I was sick) and now my body can't seem to get all of it out of my system, so it has manifested itself in my skin.  Yay.

Sorry you feel "poopy".  It really sucks when you feel like death and still have to take care of others (especially in the middle of the night.....)

Me too... been feeling rough for a week or so now. And there's still work and school...

Hope you feel better soon.

Everyone I have come into contact with lately has at least a cough. I have experienced the "spread like wildfire" in my family and don't care to repeat it. Best of wishes that the recovery will spread as fast.
