Jake, my youngest has been learning about nouns, verbs etc, in school recently.

We sat down this afternoon to watch 'The Italian Job' together, and Shea asked me what kind of movie it was.

"Action I do believe" I said.

"Oh!" says Jake "Does that mean it has a lot of verbs in it? 'Cause those are action words, ya know"

(at this point I had to leave the room with my hand over my mouth, trying to stifle the giggles)

He's 7 1/2, and yes it was quite a moment.

Jake's always been like that though....

A couple of weeks ago, on a really windy day, he set off to go up to the school bus stop. Less than 2 minutes later he came back and asked if I could please give him a ride up there "'cause I'm getting blowed all over"!

Yeah, he's my lil' man....and I love him.

I have a three year old sister, Tori, who's very good at getting her way. The other day a guest came over and starting eating potato chips. Tori was very quiet and just stood there. Then she said "I like those" as if it had nothing to do with anything. But the guest was child-savvy and responded, "I know, but dinner time is soon and i wouldn't want to ruin your appetite." More silence. Then Tori looked up again and said "we have those for dinner sometimes."

It was hilarious.

Yeah, been there, done that. ..and that was funny...

Mine almost, almost convinced me that it would be ok to eat nothing but kosher dill pickles and Cheetos for supper one time.
