Our cat likes to get into boxes.  And bags.

Every time, without fail, that there's a box in our home, she gets in it.  This morning my laptop bag got delivered, and no sooner had  I taken the bag and the packing out of the box, she was in it.

She's not picky about her boxes either.  She's just as happy with a shoe box as she is with the box the TX came in.  She even got into an empty 12 pack soda box last week.  It was a tight squeeze, and I don't know how she managed to turn around inside the box, but get in there she did and she spent an afternoon happily purring away in her new Mountain Dew abode.

Sometimes she makes do with a bag instead.  She's not too fond of the plastic bags we get at WalMart, I think that they make too much noise and aren't structured enough for her tastes.  The brown paper bags from the commissary though.....she loves those.  We spent half an hour looking for her once, wandering around the house and the yard, calling her. We thought she'd got out and had run off until we went to unpack what we thought was a left over grocery bag on top of the washer.  Polly was in it, sleeping.

We play with her in the boixes and bags too...tapping our fingers along the sides when she's in them, giggling at her 'attack cat' moves when she swats at our hands.  Her eyes get really wide, pupils eclipsing the irises as she watches us, waiting for the perfect time to strike.

We don't spend money on cat toys in our house.  Our cat isn't high maintenance.  All we have to do to entertain her (and ourselves) is provide her with a box or a brown paper bag, and she's happy.

We show our love with boxes and bags.

My kitten makes the clicking-meow noise when she sees squirrels in the tree outside my office window. First time I heard it I thought she was choking on something.

As far as bag and boxes... same for my kitten. If you look at my lego star destroyer blog, you'll see a few smaller white boxes the parts came in. Those white boxes are only slightly wider than she is, and definitely less tall. She has to flatten herself out to get into one. After the first building session I went to put the bags of pieces back into the boxes, grabbed one of them and a very startled cat came flying out of it. Scared the crap out of me.

When she's sick, I make a little bed for her out of a small plush blanket and a shoe box. She usually settles right in and sleeps off whatever illness is bugging her.
