Very colorful, what do they represent?

"Nice Rack" as shovel asked can you give us a rundown of what they are? I recognize a few from my days in the Navy but most are a mystery to me......

Quite a fruit salad. Me, I've only got two rows...

AAM - I made it through *another* mission, and this time I wasn't fat at the end (although it was too late to submit me for an ARCOM once I lost the weight).
GCM, 2nd award - I worked hard for these. Most of the work involved getting S-1/PAC to do their job awarding it to me.
Nat'l Defense - I was in when this was handed out. (Your hubbie has a device on his? Been in that long, I guess?)
GWOT Service - I was in when this was handed out. (I see D has checked that box, too.)
NCO Professional Development - I made it through a school.
Gay Pride... I mean, Rainbow Coalition... I mean, Army Service - I made it through my Initial Entry Training.

Yeah, your guy out does me pretty handily. Which one is the "V" device on? (Nothing wrong with bragging on that a bit...)

he's at work, but once he gets home I'll ask him to give y'all a rundown of what's what.

I do know that the first one on the 5th row has a gold border on it for valor.  The oak leaves and the stars are 'devices' meaning that he's completed the requirements for that ribbon more than once.  Because they don't give out the same medal multiple times, they give you a 'device' to wear on it.  Some of them only allow you to wear one or two devies on the ribbon, even though you may have earned more devices.....like the marksman ribbon, for example.  He only has once device on it, even though he's qualified for the ribbon almost every time he's gone and shot.

Pseudo: yeah, he's been in 13 years and 3 months.   So, we have 6 years and 9 months to go until he can retire...not that we're counting or anything.

Ok, here we go:

Top row, L-R: Air Force Commendation medal w/device,  Air Force Achievement medal w/device, Joint Meritorious Unit award.

2nd Row: AF Outstanding unit award with 3 oak leaf clusters and one 'V' for combat recognition, AF Good Conduct medal with three oak leaf clusters, National Defense service medal with one bronze star.

3rd row: Armed Forces Expeditionary medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary medal, Global War on Terror Service medal.

4th row: Armed Forces Service medal, AF overseas short tour, AF overseas long tour.

5th Row: AF expeditionary service medal with gold border indicating combat,  Air Force Longevity medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, AF PME Grad. medal.

6th row: Small Arms Expert medal with bronze star, AF training, NATO medal.

makes my first place ribbon in the 440 look pretty sick...

OOps, I made a mistake...the AF exp. Service has the gold border to indicate VALOR, not combat.

Wow...I never knew he had a medal for valor.  I knew he was considered a combat vet, but never knew about the valor thing.

I'm impressed.

I'm impressed.

YOu can thank him from all of us.  I think we all are impressed as well.
