....and D will be home.  I still don't know exactly when and I probably won't know exactly when until he's en route, but that's ok.  It's not the 'when' that's important, it's that he makes it home safely and in time for the surgery that really matters.

I got my bone growth stimulator yesterday.  I wasn't expecting it to be as big as it is.  I have to wear it over my back brace for 8 hours a day for the first 6 weeks, and it has a computer chip in it that lets my doctor download days and times that it was used...so he'll know if I've been cheating and not wearing it the way I'm supposed to.  It works by generating a low-level electromagnetic field which encourages my body to take oxygenated blood and calcium to the fusion site to promote fast, solid healing.  It's an expensive bit of equipment - costs over $5000.  But, if it means that I have a well healed fusion and a successful surgery it's well worth it.

This time next week he'll be home.  I won't be sleeping alone, our bed won't seem empty anymore. Mine won't be the only soap and shampoo in the bathroom, and I won't have sole control of the TV remote anymore.  I'll have to get used to sharing again, to watching bad B movies on the Sci-Fi channel.

My beloved will be home, where he belongs.

I'm glad he's on his way Dharma. I know you can't wait! I pray your surgery is successful.
