When I was a teenager, I was bigger than average 'up top'. Everyone else was wearing A and B cups, and I was in a C. As I got older and I stopped growing, I leveled out. I'm not huge, but I don't have bee stings either.
When I was at my skinniest, I was still a large B/small C. At my heaviest, I was a DD, and when I was nursing I was overfilling a DD cup but never bothered to get a bigger bra so I don't know exactly how big I was...but I'll hazard a guess and say E.
For the past few years I've been about the same size. I've always bought a 36 C bra, and whilst I had a few problems with them (falling out of the cups, the back riding up etc etc) I thought that it was just the style of bra that I was wearing. It never occured to me that I was wearing the wrong size.
Until yesterday. I was reading an article in 'O' magazine that said that most women are wearing the wrong size bra. Chicks think that they're a 36 B when really they're a 34 C, things like that.
So, this morning I went off shopping (by myself, kids and bra shopping isn't a good combination). I got measured, and....
I've been wearing the wrong size bra. All this time I've been thinking that I'm a 36C, when I'm really a full 34 D - in some styles and brands a DD fits better.
I'm surprised. Shocked, actually. I thought that maybe I had the band size wrong, but I never imagined that I'd got the cup size wrong as well. Wow. All this time I was squashing my girls into a C that was too small for them, when I should have been giving them the comfort of a bigger cup and smaller band! One's bigger than the other (I had a sizeable lump removed), but they're still a full D.
Hehehe.....my husband's going to LOVE this.......
