Hello, my name is Dharma and I'm a book-a-holic.

I am addicted to books.  I know that I'm addicted to books.  I can't leave a bookstore empty handed.  I can't even visit Amazon or Half dot com without placing an order for something.

I read constantly.  If I didn't leave the house to go to work, I'm sure that I'd be quite happy to spend all day reading.  I have learned how to cook and clean with a book in my hand and my eyes on the page.  I read over breakfast and lunch, I read over dinner and before bed.  I make sure I have my book in my briefcase before I leave for work in the morning.  I read at the doctor's office, I even read whilst I'm laying flat on my back in traction at the therapy clinic.

I read almost anything.  I'm not much of a literary snob - wait, I am.  I don't (won't, can't) read Danielle Steele or romances with Fabio-esque men on the cover.  But apart from that, I'll read just about anything.  If it has pages and a binding, I'm attracted to it.  My bookshelves are full; I need to purchase another one to accomodate the tomes I've accumulated.

I love thrift store and yard sales where I can buy books for a dime or a quarter apiece.  I love that Amazon has used books for sale, because it means I can get more bang for my buck (so to speak).  I don't mind if the pages of the books are dog-eared or highlighted, that just means that someone else has gained enjoyment from the story or information held within. I don't even mind if the cover is tatty as long as the pages are all there.

Yes, I am a book-a-holic.  Are you?

HW and I had more books than furniture to put them in when we were first married (still do) an dour house was decorated in the piles of books we just read, plan on reading soon and plan on reading again......I agreee with you on the anti-romance trend but like you, I'll read pretty much anything with a cover! HW is the book-buyer though, I can restrain myself to one or two at a time, but he needs at leat an armload every time we go to the bookstore...and he has big arms!
