I got a lot of spam in my lunchtime emails today.

Someone has decided to be pathetically childish and sign me up for a bunch of newletters and free trials of this that and the other.

It was kind of silly for them to do that, especially from my home email address....because there are only a handful of people who have it.  Most people have my gmail or our family yahoo adresses.

They also made a mistake when they signed me up for a free trial version of something - because when I went to cancel it, I found that because I didn't have the user name and ended up having to call the company.  I explained to them that I didn't sign up for it, and asked if they could tell me the IP address and location of whoever did sign me up for it.

They can.

So, now I'm going to call and email the rest of the companies who I got spam from today and see if they can provide me with the same information.

It's going to be interesting to see where these fraudulent applications have come from (and yes, they are fraudulent).

Anyone else have an idea who could be doing this?  I think that we ought to start taking bets as to which city and state the IP address will show up as originating in....

Whoever did this to you really needs to get a life and stop intruding on yours. Best of luck in shunning this intruder.

ah lifes little trials and tribulations.... whatever does not kill you makes you stronger. sorry ya have to go throught this crap kid,

Yeah, I know...I just wish I didn;t have to deal with this now!  We're supposed to be having a good time together before D leaves....not having to deal with this garbage.

I wasn't referring to your comments D-girl - rather the cussing going on.

I know you were, babe.....I was just saying that the whole scene is not very nice.

Some folks are just not wrapped too tightly are they?

Apparently not, Mason.

Whoever did this to you really needs to get a life and stop intruding on yours. Best of luck in shunning this intruder.

Thanks, sweetie!  I'll get over it eventually.....

If it were me, I would suspect a co-worker. Thats just me though.

Jeez, first the kinky Google search and now this. I pity you, because the internets wrath seems to be insatiable.

All This Sighing. Tis a Shame.

(You think WOW would just type normal!)

That's what I'm finding....

No-one I work with has my home email address. They only have my gmail and my government account. The only thing my home address gets used for is for paying bills and purchasing things (and those have all been on secure servers). There are three people that I (used to) correspond with using my home account, so I'm thinking that it's one of them.

When you moved you sent a mass email to a few people telling them your new home address. I have the CC.

Just so you know I don't have the tech savy or the bitterness to do anything like that.
And so far as I know I've only seen one person use that word in reference to another blogger. (and it wasn't Sabrina)

No, I know you wouldn't do anything like that....and Myrrander doesn't have my home email address, or my home phone number. He only has my yahoo and gmail. Like I said, there are three people who use that address to email me about things other than bills and payments. Oh nope, I take that back...there are four. So, four people.

That word, that phrase, was used on LW's thread, just so you know.

WOW Factor - I've seen you type normal in other threads. Why must you continue to irritate others by capalizing every word? To me it seems counter productive as when you type it means hitting the shift key more than you need to. Also it shows that your grammar skills are lacking. Please just type normal.

This is some seriously shitty behavior. I can't believe the nerve of some people.

If it just affected me I wouldn't be so pissed about it. But, it's affected everybody in my house. This has gone too far now.....

Yes, You've Mentioned It Several Times In Atleast Two Threads In An Almost Senile Fashion. If You Feel That Strongly About It, Make a Thread. I Don't See a Need To Piss On DharmaG's Thread, She's Clearly Distressed With All This Spam.
Btw, It Has Nothing To Do With Grammar And Everything To Do With Syntax. Also, It's WOWfactor Not WOW Factor, Unless You Want Me To Start Calling You Konad.

I'll Be On The Look Out For Your Thread.

Peace And Down With The Spammers.
on Mar 02, 2005
Well If my mis-spelling of your name irritates you imagine how the rest of us feel by reading your posts. And if you type that way because of syntax than you need to go back to school and learn proper syntax.

I'm not going to start a new thread. Sorry D-Girl.

Just adding my two cents...

Sorry Dharma, I hope you can figure out who's trying to do this to you.

As to WOW's typing...Does It Really Matter? At least we don't have many users on JU or WC who spek like dis all teh time, yo. i m3an, its realy ann0yin especially (< too big of a word for this type of user) when they think theyre all l33t n shiz.
