I filed our taxes yesterday.

We used H&R Block's efile service last year and were pretty happy with it, so we used it again this year.  It really came in handy.....I was done in under 20 mins.

We e-filed, and got confirmation that the IRS had recieved it this morning.  Last year we got a refund in about a week...this year I think it might take 2 (due to the day and time that we filed on.  Disbursements are usually made on Fridays, and I'm not sure that we made the cut off for disbursement next Friday)..but that's ok.

We also got a slightly larger refund this year than we were expecting....which is always nice.  However, I have to file state taxes this year, which kind of sucks.  We're both still SD residents because we both have SD DvLc's , but my last employer had me as an Illinois resident because I have an address here and was employed here.  So, I have to file with the state as well.....for less than fifty bucks.  It's kind of silly, really.

Anyway, our return is in, and it wasn't the big headache that I was expecting it to be.  I'd highly recommend using the e-file service....if you go to www.IRS.gov there's a list of e-file providers.  Some are free if your adjusted gross income was under a certain amount, others are free to active duty military and reservists who were on active duty last year.

Good luck with your taxes...I hope they were as easy to do as mine were!
