I've made a blogging resolution for the upcoming year.

In the past, I've tried to be tolerant of everyone, even if they were nasty or mean to me or others.  I've failed a few times, yes, and I've let me anger get the better of me more than once.   It's only bought me misery and angst.  I've gone from trying to not rock the boat to blogging on the attack.  Neither of those approaches (and everything in between) have worked.  They've caused upset, not only to me, but to others as well.

So, this year I'm adopting a 'zero tolerance' policy.  This involves a number of things.

No anonymous posts will be allowed.  If you want to respond on one of my articles, you can take 3 minutes to create an ID for yourself.

Name calling and flaming will not be tolerated.  Any response that resorts to such behaviour will simply be deleted.

This is my blog, and I shall write about anything I damn well please on it.  If you don't like it, don't read it.  I'm not writing for you, I'm writing for me.  There are thousands of other blogs for you to go read and feel more at home on...I strongly urge you to go visit one of those if you dont like/can't accept what's being said on mine.

And finally......don't feed the trolls!  Responding to troll-ish comments only encourages them to come back and write more.  If you see a comment before I have a chance to delete it, please try to ignore it.

I'm tired of being bashed here and elsewhere.....I can't control what people do and say on their blog, but I can control what's said and done here on mine.  I'm going to exercise that control to the best of my ability.

Zero tolerance.....you have been warned! LOL

I agree with you 100% except for the children of satan groupies. They bash..they lie...I'll come down on them. They are not allowed on my site either...but I will not let them bash anyone on here. As for everyone else, I think we got a great group here!

They bash..they lie...I'll come down on them.

Simply don't acknowledge trolls (aside from experimental troll nature reserve thread of course). Allow their comments to stand unanswered or simply delete them.

Good for you. And I'm glad that you are limiting your blog to registered users.
My respect.

Very good resolutions, Dharma. Perhaps if more JU bloggers would adopt the same policy, much of the BS we are so tired of would eventually disappear. I for one am "borrowing" your guidelines as of Jan. 1, and will again be blogging about my life whenever I feel like, as well as social issues, spiritual issues, etc. If people don't like it, no one is forcing them to read it!

Yeah, good for you, take charge of your blog

how will GRONK eat if no cookies........

GRONK will starve and die, and that will make Dharma happy.

I agree with you 100% except for the children of satan groupies.

They're the worst...ignore them, it's not worth the anger.

Simply don't acknowledge trolls

I have found through trial and error that this is without doubt the best way to treat them.

And I'm glad that you are limiting your blog to registered users.

Thanks...that's really meaningful coming from you!

If you don't tolerate bullshit, you won't have any...

That's the plan.

TasT will be carefull when posting on your blog

Yeah, you'd better!

Perhaps if more JU bloggers would adopt the same policy, much of the BS we are so tired of would eventually disappear.

I don't know what works for everyone else, but I think that this is going to work for me (and you too).

take charge of your blog

That's exactly what I'm trying to do.

yes, well, as one who has taken a cue or two from you in the past (oh blogging guru dharma om ah hum), this seems to be a another piece of good advice from ya

my new year's resolution is to always poke a stick into my own eye first and then if I can still see what I was mad about, type it.

peace out, dharma-lady
