This is me and Henry this morning.  You can tell how much he grew:

This is Henry sitting on command.

We've been practicing sitting and shaking a paw for a treat.  Today we started learning how to 'speak', and he's getting the hang of it. He'll sit and give a little woof on as long as I have a treat in my hand, so  I can't say that he's learned it yet; if he does it tomorrow and the day after then I'll say that he's learned it and know how to do it.

Well, that's me and my dachshund.

How does a weiner dog grow? I just assumed they were born that small.

Henry's just way too cute. Weiner dogs are just plain awesome.

How does a weiner dog grow?

They get bigger all over.  Their noses get longer as they get older, and the rest of them grows in proportion.  He weighs almost 5lbs now, but he's going to get to be about 10lbs by the time he's fully grown.

He is pretty awesome....you should see the way he runs, it's hilarious!

Aww ...he's gorgeous dharma! Pity I live-in at the backpackers, my apartment is fairly small ...otherwise, just based on that photo ...I'd get one.

Those eyes, ...I'm melting!

That is the secret to training a weiner dog.  They think with their stomachs.

I housebroke my dogs by giving them treats if they went out and did their business outside.  Now, even 9 years later, they will go to the pantry where I keep the treats and mill around trying to get a treat when they come inside.

Yes they do!  He likes cabbage, btw.....I had made some today and he was pestering me for some, so I gave him a chunk and he ate it and then bugged me for some more!

He's sitting, shaking a paw and speaking for treats now!

Well, they are German...maybe they like sauerkraut too

One of my dogs ate a chapstick when they were young.  They really will eat just about anything.

That reminds me of something funny from last night.  Holly (my Welsh Corgi who that just turned one) has obviously never had a saltine cracker before.  I gave her one last night and she played with it for about 5 minutes before she ate it.  The other dogs had no problem figuring out what to do with them, though.
