I was perusing the local hospital's 'baby pages' earlier this evening.

It never ceases to amaze me what people name their children.

Apart from the usual smatterings of ordinary names spelt 'differently' - like Mykel instead of Michael - there were a couple of names that left me asking myself 'what the hell were they thinking?'

Someone named their daughter 'Citrus'.  Yep, the trend of naming kids after fruit has gone to a whole other level.  I can hear the jokes about giving her a squeeze already.

Someone else named their son 'Corter'.  "Hey, ya got a corter ta spare for the pop machine?" was the first thing that sprang into my head.

Ok, back to the baby pages now to see what else some parents with overactive imaginations have managed to think up.....

Kitchen, Fish, Angel and Bob Robert (brother Robert Bob) are some of the wierdest names I've seen......

My In-laws had lots of good ideas for my kids.....with a last name of Stone, I'm sure you can guess. But the only ones I was remotely tempted by were....Rosetta for a girl and Rolan for a boy.

was reading the birth section of the newspaper a couple of years back when I came across one unfortunate whose parents (the Williams) had named him 'William William'

Who knows if William William Williams (WWW) will become as well known as his Big Brother Supercomputer...

That's like Robert Robertson.  We have one of those living around here.  We also have (and this is no fault of his parents, just an unfortunate phase in his career) a Major Woody. *giggles* That just cracks me up...!

I work at a physician's office and I see lots of weird names in the charts. The other day I came across 'Mystic Starr' but the absolute worst was a 63 year old man named, no lie, 'Boody Loving'

This is so funny. However, I have to admit that I am guilty as well. My boys' names are Xavier and Orian. Won't find those on a pencil anytime soon.

We used to live across the street from some people who named their kid Orian.  They moved to Texas as well, Ft Hood (he's AF but they sent him to an army post).

If I was able to have another baby, I would name it Phoenix.
