Dave got 'Knighted' last weekend.

Thule AB has a tradition of awarding those who have served their time in the Arctic circle with a certificate that bestows them with the title of 'Knight of the Order of The Blue Nose'.  It basically honors them for surviving sub zero temperatures, white-out blizzard conditions, perma-frost, constant daylight or constant darkness, arctic foxes, glaciers...you get the idea.

Here is Sir Dave being awarded his certificate by the base commander:

I hope he doesn't expect me to curtsey whenever he enters the room.

Oooh...and this means that Joe User has another blogger with the title of 'Sir'.  Except Dave's is more bona fide, and can be proven to be so.......

I'm having such fun with this picture posting thing...I understand imajinit's obsession when he first learned how to do it now!

*sigh*...30 days and I will have my Dave back.  See that mustache?  I get to feel that tickle my upper lip.  Can't wait!

I'm glad you mentioned that, I'd figured he was the one in the foreground with the fern-leaf shirt.

Nah...no enlisted person with any self respect at all would be seen in such a monstrosity.  That's the base commader.

Sorry, I should have clarified.  I'm just used to people (even Joe Users) knowing what Dave looks like.

dharma - You would've gotten an insightful for your above comment had I any user ratings left today. Hopefully, I will remember tomorrow.

*chuckle* Silly brass.

Nice smirk, milord.

He looks kinda like Jeff Foxworthy in that picture.

Situation remedied.

He does look a little Foxworty-ish, but it might just be the moo-stash. And the smirk. He didn't take that award too seriously, did he?

Hell no.  He just wanted to get it because it signifies that his tour at Thule is over and done with.  Of all the certificates and plaques he's got, there's only one that really means something to him and gets displayed.  It's a curved glass deal with his credentials (his Investigator badge, in other words) from when he worked investigations here embedded into it. We're under threat of death should anything happen to that.

We know people who have every certificate they ever got for anything framed and displayed on their 'I love me' wall.  We don't; Dave's just not like that.

Thanks for the insightful, btw!

Oh, and I'm still waiting for that picture......
