The beenie made it!
Published on July 7, 2004 By dharmagrl In Misc

I knitted a beenie for Phoenixboi a couple of weeks ago.  It's the first thing I made for someone (an adult, anyway) outside of my family, and I was really quite nervous about it.  I didn't drop any stitches, but felt that my finishing skills could have been a little better....

...but anyway, I mailed it off last Monday, and have been nervously waiting for him to let me know he got it ever since then.

He emailed me today, and he got it!  And it fits!  And he says he likes it!

What what the knitting equivalent of 'published' be?  Because that's what I am now!

Dharma, international knitter extraordinaire!

Shouldn't that be knit knit or click click or pearl pearl?

I'm freezing - it's supposedly 20 degrees (celcius) and my fingers are about to falloff

I'll see what I can do about the pic, Phoenix....and Muggaz, I'll start on yours tomorrow.

Oh, and I'm not good at knitting gloves and mittens, Trina, or else I'd make you some.  The fingers are always fat enough to fit a ....welll, you know....a.......oh, you know what I mean.  They look like a bunch of knitted condoms, put it that way!

I can knit a bikini, though.

it wasn't a hint it was a statement - its cold! Don't worry about it Karen : )

Yep, that's coming as well.  I try to have 2 or 3 things on the go at the same time....I'm trying to figure out how to make a flower for her hat at the moment.  I know you weren't hinting about the gloves....I think the bikini is good for sunbathing in and not much else.  I have too much up top and I'd be afraid of shrinkage, dig?

Thanks for the compliment, btw.  That pattern and color scheme have always been my fave....not to mention that Phoenix is awfully good looking, don'tcha think?

What do ya think, Muggy?  Still want one?

Karen - Great!!! yes I dig - I have the same problem but I'm way wary of bikini's now - bloody babies - just wait till she's old enough have I got an arguement for her "I hate you Mum" yeah well I love You look what you did too me and I still love you" *lifts up shirt to reveal many many spidery fading white strech marks that resemble scars* : )

Mugz - anonymous nick on your mike moore blog is my husband

Like I tell my husband when he says I'm sweet...remember that the next time we have a falling out.

Trina - I have a couple of stretch marks as well, but I only got some really fine ones on my hips and my upper thighs, none on my belly.  My kids asked what they were, so I told them 'badges of honor'.

Beautiful job sis!  I sure wish I knew how to knit.  My Mom and grandma are incredible knitters and crocheters.  I know how to crochet a little.  PB looks great in the beenie!

As far as 'badges on honor' go, I must be five star general!!   - don't get me started about stretch marks and veins!  It just isn't pretty.

Oh, I know.  I have a nice web of thread veins coming on my thighs, and I'm pretty sure I have a varicose vein developing as well.  I was looking in the morror last night and whilst I got lucky in that I don't have any on my belly, I do have quite a few on my thighs , hips and even my bum!  They've all faded into little white lines, but now I have a tan they're more obvious than they were when I was pale.  Oh well, I'm 35 with 3 kids...so I will wear my badges of honor with prideQ

How did your veing heal up, btw?  I've been meaning to ask you about that for ages.
