Well, I was right about my cat being in labor.

At 3 am I awoke to the sound of 4 tiny kittens mewing.....I watched for a while to make sure everything was ok with mom and the babies, then went back to bed.  I got up 15 mins later to find another one crawling around, and then was priveleged enough to see number 6 be born.

So far we have one totally black one and the rest area dark gray color...2 have white chins.  It makes me question paternity; the tom that I thought was the culprit is seal point siamese and these kittens don't have any siamese markings or colorings that I can see.   They're all sooo cute though!

You can see them here:

The pictures and preliminary and not that great...I'll take more later today.

Thanks.....I'm not as excited as my kids are though...perhaps because I know who's going to have to clean up after them!

I've had a better look now they're all dried off...one is black, one is dark grey, one is a light grey tabby, and the other 3 are dark grey tabby...mostly soild colors but you can see where the stripes are going to come in as they get older.  They're really very sweet....they have tiny little claws that they can't retract and itty little paw-pads...and they mew pitifully!

Gracious, those are bitty things aren't they? I've never seen kittens that young. I wish the photo quality had been a little clearer because I'm dying of curiosity. Thanks for taking the pictures, though! Congrats, and glad the mom and kitties came through ok!

I'm trying to get better ones, but mom is being a bit finnicky about who holds her kits and for how long.....I'll try again this evening.

Wow, that is goign to be a lot of work but that is so great congratulations, I hope they all get a good home if you end up not keeping them all (which for cats in Los Angeles is very uncommon to have the owner keep them all) Anyways that is so great they are tiny!
