Apparently I've been a VERY good girl this year, because Santa left me lots of nice things under the tree,
My husband collaborated with the Man in Red and they got me a Garmin. It's going to be a huge benefit when I'm doing stuff for hospice; I won't have to rely on Mapquest or google maps to get me around. The one I got is a portable one too, so I'll be able to carry it in my pocket should I want to wander around town.
My babies got me some perfume and body lotion from the Gap. It's one of the few scents that smell good on me don't make me break out in a rash.
When I was opening my Garmin, my husband asked me to make sure I checked out the suction cup on it, and as I was digging in the box for it, I saw a red leather ring box in there. When I looked up at him he was grinning and he told me to open it, so I did......and man, was I ever surprised by what was inside.
He got me a 1 carat, emerald-cut Sapphire set in 14 k white gold and flanked on either side by a little diamond. I had seen it in the store a couple of months ago and had pointed it out to D the next time we were in the store together. However, 2 days after that it was missing from the display rack and I honestly thought that someone else had beaten us to the punch because D's not very good at showing initiative like that. I guess I was wrong this time, wasn't I? He really came through for me this year - to make up, he says, for all the years that he hasn't been able to be here or hasn't been able to get me what he'd have liked to get me.
What about you, JU? DId you get what you wanted? How about anyrhung that you DIDN'T want?
