This happened 2 years ago:

The same thing happened tonight, but this time it's much, much worse.  He has barely any tooth left on his left side and not much on his right (he won't let me post a photo of it, bless him).  I don't think that they can be fixed so easily this time...I have a feeling that a partial or some crowns might be necessary until he's done growing and is old enough to have implants put in.  The good news is that we have dental insurance.

He was bouncing on a friend's trampoline when it happened, and they were both crying when she dropped him off....and both were saying "I'm SO sorry!".  I told both of them that it's not their fault, that boys are gonna be boys and that things like this happen, and I mean it.  It was an ACCIDENT.

I have an emergency appointment with their dentist at 0730 tomorrow morning to see what the damage is and how - or even IF - we can fix it.  I'm not so much concerned with the cost as I am with Jake getting his smile back and NOT busting his teeth out again.

Poor Jake.  I just hope the dentist can do something.

Ouch, poor Jake! I hope the dentist will be able to save the tooth if it's not gone already! Knowing how active and carefree young boys are I feel for you girl!

Here's hoping he can. Bet you Jake is feeling real sorry at the moment, poor bugger.

Double ouch.  I hope things work out for the best.  And I hope it doesn't set you all back much, if at all.  I say that because even with Dental Insurance, there can still be out of pocket costs that aren't cheap (says the guy that is getting a crown in a few days and am looking at having to pay about half the cost of same out of my own pocket )  Dental work in general isn't cheap, but cosmetic/reconstructive would seem like something that would be even more expensive.

Fortunately, most of us do make it to adulthood (boys).  But the toll on our parents!

Hope he feels better soon.  Now he has a "man scar" to brag to friends about.
