My arms are aching from the HepB and tetanus shots I got this morning, and when I came home I found Grace had chewed Dave's new ball cap, the checkbook and a ball of my yarn.

But I'm still smiling.  I'm still happy.  Wanna know why?

SHE SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My doc said there wasn't any reason for me to NOT go into nursing and signed off on my physical exam.  As long as my background check comes back clear, I'll be graduating in December.

I was awake most of the night, worrying myself sick over this physical, so I'm going to go make a pot of coffee and relax in front of the TV.  Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts and best wishes - they worked (as did the affirmation ritual I did last night and this morning)!

Now I can concentrate on worrying about the background check

Glad to hear things are going well, Karen...bout time, eh?

Too fucking right. It IS about time.....which, again, makes me think that this is what I'm supposed to be doing.

I'm so happy, Sabrina. Truly happy to be doing this.

It's a welcome break  from my usual doom and gloom, that's for sure!

Better to work with someone you know, for sure!

Oh, heck yeah!  She didn't have any issues with signing off on my paperwork at all, not like that other old biddy who was incredibly rude and who treated me like something she'd stepped in on the sidewalk.

My husband keeps saying that I should complain to Patient Advocacy about her.  I say that it's best to let sleeping dogs lie - I just won't be making any appointments with her again.

I agree about letting sleeping dogs lie, just for the record.

But you might want to keep an eye on this one. I don't think it's unreasonable that a court could see her actions as a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. While it's good for you to let sleeping dogs lie, you may want to keep your ear to the ground. It might be good to help someone else if they get pushed aside by her as well.

I'll keep an ear open for any complaints.  I don't go over there very often, but I do know people who work there (another physician -he's a pediatrician and wasn't allowed to do my physical or else I'd have asken him), so I'll keep in touch with him and see if he's heard anything about her.

I can't help but feel that her being a civilian had something to do with her refusal.  I don't know if military physicians can be sued in civil court - but I'm going to go find out.

I was just getting the opportunity to check back on the results of all this and am so glad to find this good news.  I do hope things go incredibly well for you as you move on from here.  Hopefully it's just the beginning of something great!
