I'm hooked on Jelly Belly jellybeans. The Commissary here at Scott AFB sells them in bulk for $4.29 a pound; you can either get the 49 flavor mix, the Fruit Bowl mix, the Sour mix, individual flavors or a mix of all of the above should you so desire. Every time I go to the store I make a point of getting some - I keep them in a Mason jar on the kitchen counter and have a little tin that I carry in my purse so I can have Jelly Belly beans whenever, wherever.
I've tried knock-off versions of jelly-beans, but I've been disappointed with them. There's just something about Jelly Belly beans - the flavors are so vibrant and realistic. There isn't any doubt about the flavor with Jelly Bellys; there's no 'is this cantaloupe or orange creamsicle?' like there is with some lower quality beans. They are, in my opinion, the best jellybeans around.
My personal favorites are red apple, pear, and plum. The plum and pear ones are difficult to find around here, even the specialy candy store in the local mall doesn't carry plum or pear flavored ones. Luckily, the pear flavor is pretty abundant in the Fruit Bowl mix, and the commissary has a big bin of the red apple ones, so I'm able to have at least a couple of my favorites readily available.
What about you, JU? Do you agree with my opinion about Jelly Belly beans? If so, what are your favorite flavors, and why?
