I'm hooked on Jelly Belly jellybeans.  The Commissary here at Scott AFB sells them in bulk for $4.29 a pound; you can either get the 49 flavor mix, the Fruit Bowl mix, the Sour mix, individual flavors or a mix of all of the above should you so desire.  Every time I go to the store I make a point of getting some - I keep them in a Mason jar on the kitchen counter and have a little tin that I carry in my purse so I can have Jelly Belly beans whenever, wherever.

I've tried knock-off versions of jelly-beans, but I've been disappointed with them.  There's just something about Jelly Belly beans - the flavors are so vibrant and realistic.  There isn't any doubt about the flavor with Jelly Bellys; there's no 'is this cantaloupe or orange creamsicle?' like there is with some lower quality beans.  They are, in my opinion, the best jellybeans around.

My personal favorites are red apple, pear, and plum.  The plum and pear ones are difficult to find around here, even the specialy candy store in the local mall doesn't carry plum or pear flavored ones.  Luckily, the pear flavor is pretty abundant in the Fruit Bowl mix, and the commissary has a big bin of the red apple ones, so I'm able to have at least a couple of my favorites readily available.

What about you, JU?  Do you agree with my opinion about Jelly Belly beans?  If so, what are your favorite flavors, and why?

Ronald Reagan would be proud of you Karen. ;~D

My favorite flavor of any jelly bean is Licorice.  However, with Jelly Bellies specifically, I like the Blueberry, the Banana and Green Apple.  For some reason I also like the buttered popcorn.

I love Jelly Bellies. They're my favorite jelly bean (although the Starburst ones they have at Easter time are good, too . . .)

I love the buttered popcorn, the watermelon, green apple, and tabasco flavors.

But the all-time best Jelly Belly is juicy pear. It seriously tastes like they've encapsulated a small chunk of pear for immediate consumption.

It's a beautiful thing.

Ick.  I had a bad experience with Sambuca once (Tequila too) and now I cannot handle the taste and smell of aniseed or licorice.  Even a slight whiff of it makes me gag.

Amen to that.  That's a very accurate description!

I have a pear one in my hand right now, actually.

Now it's in my mouth.

Mmmmmmm.....

Yep.  There is no better flavor in the world than pear Jelly Belly.

(This is totally unrelated to the topic at hand, but you and I have a lot in common, Sausage-Man.  It's too bad I'm not 10 years younger/you're not 10 years older and we lived closer together..... )

I love Jelly Belly and have several bags in the truck at the moment. I don't think I could pick one flavor as my favorite. I like them all.

Green apple!  Love the tartness.  I love most of the fruits and stuff, but stay away from the "candy" flavors.
