Knitting. Yarn. Fiber artistry. More knitting. Nursing school. Hospice work. Death and the dying process. Phoenix Raven's. Knitting. Yarn. Oh, and Life As An Air Force Wife.

I got a call from my LYS yesterday.  They're under new management, apparently, and have recieved a LOT of enquires about knitting classes - but have no-one teach them.

So, the new store manager has asked me to bring some samples of my work in on Monday afternoon to show him and the events coordinator, with a view to making me their new knitting instructor.

If I get the position, it'll be the first time since before I was married that I've had two jobs at the same time.  I'm hoping that I DO get hired; I've always said that my ideal job would involve getting paid to knit - with teaching other people to knit coming a close second.

I may have to learn the steps to the 'Two Job Tango'!

It's fun, isn't it? I'm working two for the first time in my life - I work as a teller still at the bank, and I also do courier work for the bank. It means that, while it's technically for the same company, I work about 55-60 hours a week.

But hey - I need the cash. It's fun.

So good luck with the knitting class! Hope you get the job!

What kind of life is that to live? Your social hours are significantly hacked off. Work eat sleep? I do 37 hours a week, and have lot of time for a social life too.

Good luck with that, it is always good to be doing something you like and enjoy.

I make plenty of time for social life. You just don't sleep very much . . .

Good luck getting the perfect job. I hope it really is the perfect job for you, and that you get it! Being able to get paid to do something you love is always key.

Good luck, dharma! I've done the two job thing myself, and though I'm sure I could do it again if needed, I would not look forward to it. I hope you enjoy, though.

sometimes you gotta set priorities. I'm a full time student myself (19 hours each of the past two semesters), work full time (at least 40, usually no more than 50 hours), plus 11 hours a week of work study at the school. I'm doing it to better our situation, though. Social life is tertiary.

When I was in my 20s (as Sausage Man...er SanC is) I could work 60 hours, party another 60, and have 48 left over for sleeping, bathing, and domestic drudgery.

Amen, Whip-ster. I dunno what you're doing, Willow, but you need to learn to prioritize . . .

This one sounds perfect.  In that you can set your own hours (within reason I suspect).  Good luck with the tango!

Go for it. It sounds like an awesome job. I'm still getting in some, got laid up in the hospital for a bit (infected lymph nodes, nothing heroic) and I just finished a celtic braid scarf and started on a hat.

Sorry to hear about the hubby's ACL, that blows.
