...she's only a day away.

Tomorrow morning, I'lll be putting clean sheets on the bed in my daughter's room and doing a little light housework.

Tomorrow lunchtime, I'll be having difficulty sitting still.

Tomorrow afternoon, my husband and I will be driving to the other side of St Louis.  To Lambert Airport, to be exact.  No, I'm not going to be dropping him off, not this time.  This time we'll be picking someone up.

We'll be picking my mum up.

She's arriving tomorrow for a slightly-over-3-week visit, and I am SOOOOOOOO happy and excited to see her.  It's been much, much too long and this visit is way overdue.

We've bought a digital camcorder especially for her visit, so no doubt I'll be posting some clips (if I can figure out how to do it, that is) and some still photos.  I've bought some waterproof mascara - I can tell you now that it's going to be necessary; I tear up at the mere thought of seeing her again.

This time Thursday, we'll be sitting around my living room, drinking coffee and chatting.

That makes me incredibly happy.

Coffee, not tea? So happy for you K. Say hi for me and best wishes. Life must be much different for her these days without your dad.

I bet she'll have a blast catching up with you and spending time with her grandkids.

We are going to have to tie a rope to your ankle and anchor you down if you dont stop floating!

Have a great visit!  Tell her hi from the gang at JU land.

I will, and it is......it's going to be difficult for me to see her without my dad.  I'm expecting his absence to be very apparent....

Tell her hi from the gang at JU land

Will do!

take many pictures.. give mum many kisses..let her spoil the kids rotten..that is what grand mums do best.

That's exactly what I'm intending to do!  This is literally a trip of a lifetime for her, and I'm going to make the most of it!

Enjoy the time ahead, Karen, cherish it not only for what it is, but for what it might be, a chance to say all those things you want to say before it's too late to do so.

I am; I'm acutely aware that this trip might be the last time I get to see her so I'm going to make the most of the opportunity and let her know just how much I love her and how proud of her I am.

And, right back at you.

She does, and I fully intend to cherish every second of her visit.

Right back at you, too.

Thanks!  I think I will!
