I got to do something very cool this afternoon.

The EMT's at the circus were part of the team who stopped and helped me after the jeep vs semi wreck I had last year.  They had been on their way back from a classs when they happened upon the scene, and I've always considered myself to be remarkably fortunate to have received their expert attention less than 3 mins after the impact.

I got to thank them.  I got to face them, recovered, walking, living...and thank them for helping me.

It was one of the most satisfying experiences I've had, ever.

I just wanted to share it.

You have a truly delightful way of making any day feel better.

Well, thank you, Shel.

I'm sp glad you had the chance to thank them. What a rewarding experience for both you and them, knowing how far you have come.

Yeah, they said they were pleased to see me walking around in one piece.  It really was quite something to see and be able to talk to them.

Gratitude is a wonderful gift. I know that EMT's save a lot of lives but they probably rarely know the outcome.

That is so wonderful!  Maybe that will help give you a little emotional closure to help you through the mental healing.

Best wishes.

That is fantastic, Dharma...for all of you. I'm sure it made them feel good to see you looking so much better than the last time, and as Jill said, hopefully it will give you some closure on things as well.

I'm sure you made their day--I wonder how often they are thanked?

And, hopefully, as Jill and Poetmom said, it will help you to heal mentally. You know how they say that dreams are either something that is going to happen or something that you are afraid of...well, if you subscribe to this thought process (I'm not fully decided yet) maybe your nightmares last week were some how foreshadowing this meeting, so that it would be fresh in your mind and you would recognized them...

that maybe one of my crazier theories, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Not at all, Shades, that makes sense.....

..I'm just glad I got to do it.  I feel more at peace with it today than I did last week.

May this journey of healing continue.
