I've been making candy this week.

I made some blackberry flavored hard candy last Friday and some cotton candy flavored yesterday.  I made suckers and hexagon shaped candy pieces, and I also used a Jello 'Jello Bean' mold - the candy pieces that came out of that are the perfect size and shape (IMO).

I also got a chocolate mold when I was at the cake and confectionery store.   It's like a sucker mold, but instead of sucker sticks you put pretzel rods in it and get chocolate pretzel suckers.  Those are my favorites, and apparently the kids liked them too because they were all gone in the space of a few hours.  I made some more on Sunday - using white chocolate this time - and I had to ration them or else they'd have been gone by Sunday night.  There's one left, and the only reason it hasn't been eaten is beacuse I've told everyone that it's mine and if they eat it I won't make any more, period.  So far everyone has managed to behave themselves and it's still in the fridge.  I'm going to eat it this morning; I promised myself it as a treat if I went to the gym and walked/ran 2 miles (I find that the carrot/horse mentality works really well).

I've got mint chocolate, butter rum, watermelon, peppermint, cherry, another cotton candy and butterscotch flavor drams left, and I'm trying to decide what to make next.  I think that mint chocolate is going to be the winner because I've got two of them.  I've also got some food dyes - I made the blackberry candy a dark purple and the cotton candy was, of course, pink. I don't know what color to make the mint chocolate, though.  Green, perhaps?

I'm going to send some of this candy and perhaps some  chocolate pretzels to my mum, some to my in-laws, and maybe even some to a few JU-ers.  I think that everyone likes candy, right?

I'm 'The Candy Ma'am' because I mix it with love!

Sounds like fun. I like to make the pretzel rods too. I don't use a mold, just dip them in chocolate and then roll in different toppings and drizzle with white chocolate. That'a about as far as my candy making adventures go.

I've been thinking about getting some toffee bits and rolling the milk chocolate ones in that.  I've also been thinking about what popcorn drizzled with chocolate and sprinkled with toffee pieces would taste like...

Neither do I, and to be honest I don't care!

I used to make a little here and there when I was a kid, but it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I really got into it - using different flavors, colors, textures etc.  The chocolate pretzels are a new thing for me, though.

I'm going to look to see how to make toffee this afternoon....

They sound yummy

They are yummy!
