I have just come across the coolest knitting pattern.  THE coolest pattern.  Of all the patterns I have come across, this is the coolest.

It's a doll knitting pattern (patternS, actually).  Not an ORDINARY doll, not just some plain old regular baby doll.

A Joey Ramone doll.  JOEY FREAKIN' RAMONE!  How cool is that?!!

But the fun doesn't end there; I also found a Henry Rollins doll pattern, complete with tattoos.  Yes, you read that right.  HENRY ROLLINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  With TATTOOS!

As if Joey Ramone and Henry Rollins weren't enough, the chick rockers get a doll too: Joan Jett.  OH YEAH!  JOAN JETT!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm making a Joey Ramone doll for a certain little wahine who will be gracing the world with her presence in the not too distant future.  Her bro's sport mohawks, so I think it only proper that their little sistah be able to represent with her 'My First Punk Rawker' Joey Ramone dolly.  The other stuff I'm knitting for her is pretty punk rawk-y too, but I'm not going to tell y'all any more about that because it'll spoil the surprise.  I'll just say that I think it's fekkin' cool and I'll leave it at that.

Punk rock knitted dolls!  That's too freakin' cool!!!

I had the Dead Milkmen's Punk Rock Girl spontaneously pop into my head when thinking about you earlier today. I guess my subconscious was right.

It's not your grandma's knitting circle anymore, is it!! ;~D

I guess my only question now would be, can Jerry Garcia be immortalized in hemp? ;~D

OMG! I LOVE Joan Jett.

Do you wanna touch -- YEAH! -- Do you wanna touch -- YEAH! -- Do you wanna touch me there? Where?

Ahh, how that video warmed the cockles of my young heart. (Not to mention other parts.)

She was on Leno recently. Damn she's still fine....

... wait... this was about knitting or something... right? Whoops. Sorry. Forget I was here.

I'm just going to go think about Joan and warm my cockles or something.

In my 'Stitch N Bitch Nation' knitting book.  I'll scan the pattern and send it to you if you'd like.  It's not terribly difficult; if you know how to increase, decrease and pick up stitches from a finished edge and knit them, then you'll be able to make these babies just fine.

I knew you were thinking about me, oddly enough.  I don't know how or even why, I just knew.  And yes, your subconcious was right.

It certainly aint!  I have patterns for thongs - MAN thongs, even!

I guess my only question now would be, can Jerry Garcia be immortalized in hemp? ;~D

Yes, he can!  I could use short-row shaping to give him his pot-belly, a variegated yarn to mimic a tie-dye shirt and some grey merino wool for his hair and beard.   The hemp yarn might have to be hand-dyed (by myself) to get the right colorings, but I'm sure I could handle that.  And, of course, the first successful Jerry I make would be yours, Ted.

I'm just going to go think about Joan and warm my cockles or something.

I can always make you a Joan doll to help...errm....to help you successfuly warm your coclkes, Gene.  You just say the word and she will be yours....

I got hooked by your title, and then saw, "another yarn yunkie", but the enthusiasm and energy made me read it.  I am sorry I will never be a yarn Yunkie, but your posts sure make it worthwhile to read!

huh?

Ted, I found and ordered some hemp and wool yarn, so your Jerry Garcia doll is a possibility.  All I have to do is figure out the short row shaping for his belly and I'll be casting on his stitches!
