Ok, so I'm showing these a little early...I said tomorrow morning, but I have an appointment in St Louis then so I'm posting them now.

This is my purple hair (hi, 'miah!!):

And just for fun, this is me:

Those are my bug-glasses. I love that big gradient tint sunglasses are back in style; I can go without makeup some days and still look groovy!  Yesterday I didn't have time to shower and style in the morning, so I tied my hair back in a black bandana and threw on those glasses....yeah, I was stylin'.  I thought I was, anyway, and so did the tall dark and handsome  (in a Jet/The Verve kinda way) guy at the craft store, judging from the looks he was giving me as he was (trying to) surreptitiously following me around the store.  He makes me want to work there even more.....but that's wrong of me to say.  I am a married woman and I shouldn't be thinking about how tall dark handsome craft store guys.  Yeah.  Well. Okay, then.

So, this is the skull and crossbones illusion scarf for my kid:

What's that, you say?  You don't see any skull and crossbones on it?  It looks like a plain ol' stripey scarf, doesn't it?  Yep.  It does.  Until you look at it from a slightly different angle:

TA DAAAA!  There's yer skull and crossbones!  That's the purple one; if you look closely at the top part of the scarf closer to the needle you can see the start of the black crossbones.  I think it's awesome, and so does my kid.  You've got to keep this on the shush side, tho...she doesn't know I'm making it for her yet, it's supposed to be a birthday surprise.

More just for fun pics:

That's my husband wrestling with Gracie the Boxer-dawg in the backyard.  She likes to live up to her 'boxer' tag and he usually comes out of it with big ol' welts and scratches down his arms where she's boxed him.

That's them posing for a photo.  It took me AGES to get that shot.  Grace didn't want to sit still and look at me.

That's Gracie's big monster tongue escaping from the confines of it mouth.  That happens a lot; she's a very licky dawg.

And, not to be left out, here's Henners:

He likes to sit on my lap when I knit so he can snap at the ends of the needles as they tickle his back.  I tolerate him for a bit, but then it gets annoying so he gets shoved off.

Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to get a pic of myself knitting that doesn't make me look stoned or stupid...

I dig the hair and the boxer is beautiful.

You better show Henry!  He has been tutoring Gracie!  And she is getting big!  And I love the hair!  Great picks!

Now on that Skull and Crossbones. Maybe you should visit the pirate ship that Capt'n starkers has shanghaied.  Or do it in Black and Silver and join me on the Raider sinking ship! (hey!  I can laugh even when we are sucking air!).

All in all, a great blog!  With great picks, and Gracie and Henry. BTW:  Dave is ok, just not my type.

Thanks!  I LOVE my hair.  I've had close to 3 years worth of bad haircuts and when I say bad, I mean BAD...bad enough to wear hats all the time...so for me to be able to say I LOVE my hair now is really something.  People comment on it all the time and I get quite a few glances when I'm out and about.  I think that I'm going to keep it like this for a while.

And I love the hair!

Thanks, me too!

Or do it in Black and Silver and join me on the Raider sinking ship!

Actually, if you'd like one in those colors (or maybe pale grey, I'm not sure I can find metallic silver yarn), I'd love to make one for you.

All in all, a great blog! With great picks

Thanks!  Grace and Henry are just awesome dawgs and we're very proud of them, as you can tell!

That's awesome!  Grace is 7 months now, and whilst she has an underbite it's not enough for her teeth to show.....I wish that it was!  I LOVE how that looks on Boxers!

The last two picks for some reason never opened for me..

Hmm....I use Photobucket.com for hosting and I've never had a problem with them yet.  Let me go see what I can do..

I love your hair, Karen. The cut is so cute, and of course I LOVE the purple. I wanted to get some purple highlights put in my hair pre-pregnancy, and you wouldn't believe the price they quoted me since my hair is so long.

It looks better on YOU anyways! Hehe.

Those are great pics of you. You look really happy and well.

I enjoyed the photos.

I've ALWAYS been punk-ish, baby!  I just hid it really well.  This hair now really reflects ME, and I'm loving it.

your hair looks fabulous!

Thanks, M!

and you're one pretty lass!

Aww!  I'm blushing now!  I'm alright, I guess.  I'm really not photogenic - I look much better in person. Honestly!

The boxer sure had me giggling

Yeah, she makes me laugh every day.  It's quite something to live with a farting, belching, slobbering snoring organism - and I'm taling about the dawg, not my husband (HAHAHAHA!!! Sorry, Dave!)!!!

I wanted to get some purple highlights put in my hair pre-pregnancy, and you wouldn't believe the price they quoted me since my hair is so long.

I did it myself, but it's easier for me because my hair's relatively short.  I did some on Shea's hair, though....so I imagine that if you and I were living closer and you trusted me enough I'd be able to handle yours.

Total cost for mine was under $25 - that's for the base color, the highlighting kit, the Manic Panic violet shade, the tinit brush and the acid-ph shampoo they recommend you use afterwards.  I have to touch up the purple shade every 4 or 5 days in order to keep it bright, but it's not that big of a deal - I just wash my hair, apply the stuff with the brush, wait 15 mins then get in the shower to rinse it all out.  If I wanted to spend more I could get a clear Manic Panic glaze to extend the color life, but it's not that big of a deal for me to maintain it.

I'm growing my hair out; this is just kind of a half-way cut...but I still love it.  I have hair now!! Hair that gets ruffled in the breeze!  It's been YEARS since I had that!

Those are great pics of you. You look really happy and well

Thank you!  Dave and I were just talking about how happy I look in these pics and how it's been a while since he's seen me that happy.  Years, in fact.  I'm hoping that this happy phase will last a good long while, because I feel like I'M back, you know?

Well, at least the dog isn't purple

Looks good on ya and I like the shades. I've been looking for a pair of old fashioned "Blues Brothers" shades but no luck so far.
