Ok, so I'm showing these a little early...I said tomorrow morning, but I have an appointment in St Louis then so I'm posting them now.
This is my purple hair (hi, 'miah!!):
And just for fun, this is me:
Those are my bug-glasses. I love that big gradient tint sunglasses are back in style; I can go without makeup some days and still look groovy! Yesterday I didn't have time to shower and style in the morning, so I tied my hair back in a black bandana and threw on those glasses....yeah, I was stylin'. I thought I was, anyway, and so did the tall dark and handsome (in a Jet/The Verve kinda way) guy at the craft store, judging from the looks he was giving me as he was (trying to) surreptitiously following me around the store. He makes me want to work there even more.....but that's wrong of me to say. I am a married woman and I shouldn't be thinking about how tall dark handsome craft store guys. Yeah. Well. Okay, then.
So, this is the skull and crossbones illusion scarf for my kid:
What's that, you say? You don't see any skull and crossbones on it? It looks like a plain ol' stripey scarf, doesn't it? Yep. It does. Until you look at it from a slightly different angle:
TA DAAAA! There's yer skull and crossbones! That's the purple one; if you look closely at the top part of the scarf closer to the needle you can see the start of the black crossbones. I think it's awesome, and so does my kid. You've got to keep this on the shush side, tho...she doesn't know I'm making it for her yet, it's supposed to be a birthday surprise.
More just for fun pics:
That's my husband wrestling with Gracie the Boxer-dawg in the backyard. She likes to live up to her 'boxer' tag and he usually comes out of it with big ol' welts and scratches down his arms where she's boxed him.
That's them posing for a photo. It took me AGES to get that shot. Grace didn't want to sit still and look at me.
That's Gracie's big monster tongue escaping from the confines of it mouth. That happens a lot; she's a very licky dawg.
And, not to be left out, here's Henners:
He likes to sit on my lap when I knit so he can snap at the ends of the needles as they tickle his back. I tolerate him for a bit, but then it gets annoying so he gets shoved off.
Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to get a pic of myself knitting that doesn't make me look stoned or stupid...
