No, not 'tar-jay'. TARGET. As in bullseye. Something to be aimed for and shot at.
I don't usually make much metion of the various ans sundry rumors that I hear about my husband's career field and the way it's heading. I figure that it's not of much interest to anyone, and that the rumors are usually just that - rumors.
However, this information I'm about to share is starting to look like it's going to become reality, and it scares me to death.
There is talk of placing Air Force Security Forces personnel (cops, in other words) in Iraqi police stations to work alongside with the Iraqi police.
My husband is an AF cop.
Does anyone else understand why this information bothers me so? Why even my husband, the guy who never balks at doing his duty and deploying to wherever they send him, why even HE said he hoped he didn't get picked for this because he'd rather not be a target?
I sure hope so.
*I know that a fair amount of you are going to come and tell me not to worry about it, that it'll probably never happen and that if it does he'll probably never have to go, and whilst I appreciate and cherish your opinions and the need you may feel to protect me.....please, don't tell me not to worry about it. I don't get worked up over a lot of the places he locates to because I know that statistically he's been pretty safe (and IS pretty safe). This, however, is different. So, if you want to talk to me about it and discuss it, then I invite that. But please, don't tell me I'm being silly and/or that I have nothing to worry about.*
