As I dragged my long-suffering husband into a local craft store today, I saw a sign on the door advertising daytime teaching positions, for, amongst other things, knitting classes.

"That'd be about perfect for me," I said.  "I could get paid to knit!!"

I did as the sign instructed and found the manager.  He said that whilst they had one knitting teacher already, they were always looking out for people to teach during the day.  He asked what hours I could work, and when I told him anytime between 8am and 4pm, he told me to apply for the job and asked me what my name was so he'd be on the lookout for my application.

I'm filling out the application this evening and turning it in tomorrow morning.

This job is right up my alley. The hours are perfect, and I'd be doing something I love to do - knit.  I said that I could teach anything up to an advanced intermediate level, but I don't think they're looking for that.  I think that it's going to be mainly beginners and our first project is probably going to be something like a garter stitch scarf.  That's ok; there are many ways I can think of already to make that interesting.

I'm turning this application in tomorrow, and I'll have my fingers and toes crossed that the manager remembers me and wants to hire me.  As my husband said: "you're only going to turn around and spend most of your paycheck in the store anyway".  He's right.  I'd happily take payment in yarn.

Does that make me a yarn-junkie?

Well, at least you're not selling yourself for just one more hit.

I hope you get a positive response from the recipient of your application.
