I used the 'Blacklist' feature..
...and it felt good!

...although it doesn't appear to be working and I'm not sure why. Anyone got any ideas?
But it did feel good, though. I never thought I'd enjoy censorship quite this much. I'm really quite ashamed to say that - but I did what I felt I needed to do.

:-/ I'm sorry that it isn't working. I've never used it myself, although I've considered it. I'm not even sure how it's supposed to work.

It feels better to know I don't use it. The play is more fair and steels the nerve. Just wouldn't be the same to blog and wonder what the ahole thought and not know.

The person that you blacklist isn't supposed to be able to respond to any more of your blogs...actually, I think that's it: the person that I blacklisted can continue to respond to the thread they were on, but not to any others.
I'm still glad I did it. I have no regrets.
And, Dan, I think it obvious it wasn't you.

Yeah Dharmagirl, your last blog was HUGE. (The Too Close for Comfort one.) You've racked up 71 comments on that thing already. It is interesting how a post about something can sort of take on a life of its own.
Amazing.

IT WAS ME, DHARMAGRL, WASN'T IT!!!

Yes, it was Jamie, and it got out of control. I never thought that it would. All I wanted to do was express how my perspective on the war had changed because it had become a personal thing for me...and it blew up in my face.
War brings out the worst in folks, whether they're talking theoretically or doing the damn fighting on the front lines.

No, Marvin, it wasn't you. I'd have told you if I was going to do that to you.

I don't believe in blacklisting or trolling, although I have used the latter on occasion when someone was being particularly annoying. It actually made me feel dirty, and then i felt like a real jackass when I got trolled for a few hundred points a couple weeks later.
I'm glad the feature is there for those who feel the need to use it, but I don't think I ever would

Imajinit, I agree fully.
Dharmagrl, I like to think that we have enough respect for eachother that even when we irritate each other beyond all bounds of reason, we work it out instead of avoiding the situation.

Dan, is this as contradictory as it sounds?

The thing is, we rarely irritate each other cause we know what irks us off. It's not hard to figure out you know, after all we've "known" each other and read each other for quite some time now. Sometimes, by looking at the replies, I think that we've formed a little community within the community. Oh wait, righto, someone already branded us as a "clique" before, didn't they

Where is this thread you speak of Dharma? Muggaz must read.
Then, and only then, will i tell you my opinion!!!
I dont like censorship, but i dont really like insensitive twats either. If someone could point me hither, it would be most appreciated! - I feel like I have come back after Easter break and all this shiznit has gone down whilst I am unawares!!! its crazy! I always know whats goin' down here!

It's called "Too Close For Comfot", Muggaz. I'm still upset about it.

Oh, and just so everyone knows, if it had been one of the 'clique' that had upset me I wouldn't have blacklisted them. You guys I would have tried to work it out with. However, it wasn't.

Your blog.... your control over it......... as it should be.
If someone was giving me grief I could do without, there'd be no hesitation on my part in blacklisting them.
Pity though, if it's not working.
