We went to the St louis zoo on Saturday.

We filled up our camelbaks and packed our lunches, and off we went on the Metrolink tram to Forest Park and the zoo.  It was a beautiful day, about 80 degrees and sunny, and we had a really good time.  We strolled around, looking at the animals and also at the statues that decorate the zoo. They usually depict a man (presumably the founder of the zoo) with various animals.  In front of the reptile house there's one of a man with a big python around his shoulders, and in front of the primate house there's one of a man holding hands with a chimp:

Dave and I saw this and just fell about laughing.  We weren't the only ones, right after we took a photo of it another family came by and got the giggles over it too.  I don't know if the person who made the statue realized how it looks from a certain angle, or if we all just have dirty minds and see something that the creator didn't.

All I know is that I can't help buy laugh every time I see it.

Teeheehee!  YUP!  I looked at the picture and wondered what the sculptor was thinking!

And I am not sure what a camelbak is, but in these parts they are nasty crickets!  Guck!

And I am not sure what a camelbak is

A CamelBak is a sportsing hydration system.  Basically it's a bladder/bag with a tube running off the bottom of it that ends in a bite valve.  The bladder fits in a backpack and there's a hole in the backpack for the tube to come out and also a 'D' ring to keep the tub close to the wearer's mouth on the backpack shoulder strap.   You can run, walk, bike or do whatever it is that you want to do without having to worry about carrying your water bottle in your hand.  Most of the backpacks are insulated so your beverage stays cool - and you can even get neoprene tube insulators.

The military have been using camelbaks for a while now, especially when troops are in the desert/middle east.

We've had ours for a few years - Dave got his first, then I got mine, and the kids ones are hand-me-downs from Dave and I. I love mine, I use it as often as I can - even when I'm walking the dog!  Because it's basically a backpack with a separate insulated pouch for the bladder I can use it as a sport carry-all - in fact, I used to use it as a purse!  I don't carry it often now because I'm carrying knitting and the combination of needles and bags full of water is a bad one.  However, this summer it'll get more use, especially when we start going to the pool every day again!

Yeah it is pretty funny and, yes, we probably all have dirty minds

Camelbacks are nice. I use a Platypus, same thing basically.

Yep, same thing....a hydration system.  Dave got a new one this past weekend, actually.  We found a 3 liter 'Mule' at the BX for 50% off.  So, he got what retails in a sports store for $60+ for $27.  He said that he didn't really NEED it, but the price was so good he couldn't pass it up.  Besides, he'll use it. especially this summer.
