Every week since the series started, my family and I have gathered in the living room to watch American Idol.

Especially on the nights when people get booted.  We sit on the edge of our seats, chanting "Bucky! Bucky!  Bucky for the cut!!" under our breaths.

And every week we are disappointed.

I really don't know what America is thinking when they vote.  Look at the talent that's on that stage night after night - Chris, Taylor, Elliot, Mandisa, Kelly (although I do think that her ditzy blonde charm isn't going to last much longer.  It's wearing thin on me already)...there are singers up there that are simply out of Bucky's league.

So why is he still there?  His singing is akin to growling when compared to the other contestants.  He's flat when he should be sharp, sharp when he should be flat, pitchy, out of tune and out of rhythm....he's just a mess.

I don't know why he's still there.  Surely he must know that he's NOT going to win....he must be able to tell that his voice simply isn't up to par.  He HAS to know that.  Even Kevin 'Chicken Little' was a better singer than Bucky, and he got booted last week!

I have a theory: I think that there's a conspiracy going on.  Every time there's a vote, one half of North Carolina votes for Bucky and the other half votes for Kelly Pickler.  Regardless of performance, they vote for their native son and daughter, simply because they're from North Carolina.    The 'Good Ol' Boy' network is in full effect, and that's why the near talentless Bucky (and who in the heck names their boy-child 'Bucky' or 'Rocky' anyway????) and the dumb blonde Kelly are still in the contest.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!  Start voting based on talent, not just because they come from the same state as you!!!!

If Bucky gets through to the final 6, I will have lost all faith in America and will never watch American Idol again.  Because it won't be a competition based on talent any more.

It's starting to look that way now - it aint about what you can do, it's about where yer from.

That stinks.

I actually like Simon. People love to hate him but he does tend to apologize when he is wrong and people don't like to admit that he's rarely wrong.

I have to agree. He does need a little better check valve on what he says (like the comment about Mandisa and needing a bigger stage). It is my understanding that those comments were never supposed to air and they were not told that the cameras were going to continue to tape after the participants were finished. This is TV though. Controversy sells advertising and advertising is how they make their money.

That still doesn't excuse him but who hasn't made a really smug hateful comment about someone in their lifetime.

I like Bucky...he seems like a down home, respectful, polite guy. But I do agree with the fact that he is nowhere near being the best singer on there.

You are not alone wanting Bucky out, though. The AI forums have plenty of groups trying to ban together to kick him out...it's crazy.

Taylor is my favorite, with Chris being second. I really do hope they both make the final two (although I do think Taylor needs to pick it up).

Although I don't watch the show past the original auditions, I share your feelings, dharmagirl. I want Bucky to go! It saddened me that Mandisa was kicked off!

ARGGGGG !! Not! can't remember the name of the guy with the bald head, however LOVED his singing, and you're so on target about Mandissa, she'll get snapped up by someone in the industry.
