I'm thinking, and have been seriously considering getting a 'Monroe' (facial piercing, right about the spot that Marilyn had her mole - aka a Madonna or a Crawford) or maybe a labret (in the dimple of your bottom lip).

I marked on myself with an eyeliner last week to see what I'd look like with one, and to be honest I think I prefer the Monroe.

You can get some really small beads for either piercing, so I wouldn't have some heavy, huge hardware in there...it'd be really delicate and dainty (if it's possible for a facial piercing to be delicate or dainty).

So, tell me what you think, good, bad or indifferent.

Thanks!

I think that if it's not going to cause any trouble on the homefront (you did mention that Dave wasn't all gung-ho about it before, didn't you?) then, by all means go right ahead. I am a chicken and wouldn't even dream about doing it, simply because it looks too painful. The end result however, I think looks great. I vote on the labret...

I am still kicking around the idea of an eyebrow ring. It's been on my mind for over a year, but still can't quite get up the nerve.

We had a talk about it..and he said that I should go ahead if I wanted to do it that bad. He doesn"t think that I'll like it tho...

..and whilst I like the look of the Monroe, I did like the way the labret looked too.

As for the eyebrow...do it, you know you want to...and they really don't hurt that bad. If you can stand to get stuck for an IV, then you can stand to get pierced, it's been about the same level of pain (except the piercing's sometimes quicker!)

Thanks!

OH MY GOSH!!! I want a monroe!!! But if I choose to get it, I know I'll have to get rid of my lip piercing because really, that's too much. That makes me sad because my lip ring has been with me throught the good times and the bad. I say go for it, it's an awesome piercing.

How painful was your lip ring to get, Trin?

I've heard some girls say that a labret/monroe was the most painful...just wondering what your take on that was/is.

I'd probably pierce my lip or get a Monroe (I prefer the monroe to a labret- it seems "classier" for some reason....if that can really happen with a piercing) but I scar very easily.  So, I settled on the nine earrings instead    I always wanted my nose pierced, but I'm sure that I would end up with some awful scar from it.  I had my navel pierced for awhile, but took it out because it was starting to grow scar around it.  I always heard horror stories of how much that would hurt, but I didn't find it bad at all.  No worse than ear cartilage piercing.  Plus, the pain is over fast, so why worry about it?
