Dave sent me flowers today.

You may wonder why this is a big deal to me...well, I'll tell you. He's never sent me flowers before.

He's bought them for me and given them to me himself, he's picked them for me...but he's never had flowers delivered to me. We just have never been the kind of couple that did stuff like that...we've always been pretty non-traditional in the gift-giving department. He's asked before if I'd like it if he sent me flowers, and I always said I'd rather he took me to dinner or bought me something else.

So, the magnificent arrangement that was delivered earlier today was quite an event for me. I started crying as soon as I saw the delivery guy on the porch, and still haven't quite stopped.

The card that came with them...well, we have a 'thing' that he says to me, a line from a movie. I'm not going go go into too much detail because it's kinda personal and whilst I don't mind sharing a lot of personal stuff with you all........I'll just say that it requires a slight scottish accent. He had our 'thing' written in the card.

You know, I'm married to a wonderful guy, I really am. Irises and roses and lilies, oh my! You can see them here: http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dharmagrl69/album?.tok=ph_Mh1AB3A8_kmHE&.dir=/3ded&.src=ph

Could you take a picture of the bouquet? That'd be really cool.

i sent Emily a dozen Roses last Thursday... she got accepted into North Carolina State's Ph.D program, as well as Auburn's...

so unlike Mack, I don't have to feel like a shmuck

good for you Dharma... i'm glad you're in love

How sweet. It is wonderful that you appreciate it so much too. Too many women just expect that sort of thing.

Best wishes.

I'm with Trinitie... jealousy kicking in! There are no decent boys around here. *starts sobbing*

Hey, I write poems for my girl, that's gotta be worth something

i sent my girl flowers Trin... so that means i'm decent, right? you've already told me that you don't like me because you think i would make your head hurt... this is completely off subject, but do you really think that i engage in philosophical discussions every moment of the day?

anyhoo... at least Dharmagrl is happy... even if none of the other chics here are

Trin will be happy when she realises the truth - that she desires me sexually!

Trin I feel a deep connection to you dear girl, maybe it's love. I want to take you as my Mistress behind my wife’s back?

dharmagrl, that is so nice!  My husband hasn't sent me flowers in almost 8 years.  It's just not something that we do.  It doesn't bug me, though.  I rather have him do the small things on a daily basis than worry about the flowers.

That's how we are, Karma. It's not anything that I missed, but now that it's happened...well, I'm still pretty chuffed about it, as you can tell.

That's the nice thing about things that you never expect- they have more of an impact.

No offence dear ladies but it always amazes me that a man buying you flowers produces such a reaction of joy. Women seem to think men are sensitive and romantic simply because they buy a bunch of £3.99 flowers, when in fact the old chap just picked up either the first bunch of flowers he saw or the cheapest.

That reminds me, I must pick some flowers for Alexandria - If she likes them she may even allow me to mount her tonight.
