For me (not being a big fan of Love Songs in general), "You & Me" By Alice Cooper has always been a favorite.

Oh and Dharma, here's a kleenex!! ;~D

Ahh, that would be Ella Fitzgerald's...

At last my love has come along
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song
At last the skies above are blue
And my heart was wrapped up in clover
The night I looked at you
I found a dream that I can speak to
A dream that I could call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
You smiled, and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
And you are mine at last

*sniff* Thanks, Ted!

For me, it has to be a classic....Clapton's 'Wonderful Tonight' because that was the first song we ever danced to.

I'm getting the tabs for 'Everything I Own' btw....

One of my favorites is Thirty-Three by Smashing Pumpkins. It reminds me of when Adrian and I were young (and we listened to that CD a lot during sex, hahahaha). I can't hear it without feeling some sort of bittersweet emotion.

Speak to me in a language I can hear
Humour me before I have to go
Deep in thought I forgive everyone
As the cluttered streets greet me once again
I know I can't be late, supper's waiting on the table
Tomorrow's just an excuse away
So I pull my collar up and face the cold, on my own
The earth laughs beneath my heavy feet
At the blasphemy in my old jangly walk
Steeple guide me to my heart and home
The sun is out and up and down again
I know I'll make it, love can last forever
Graceful swans of never topple to the earth
And you can make it last, forever you
You can make it last, forever you
And for a moment I lose myself
Wrapped up in the pleasures of the world
I've journeyed here and there and back again
But in the same old haunts I still find my friends
Mysteries not ready to reveal
Sympathies I'm ready to return
I'll make the effort, love can last forever
Graceful swans of never topple to the earth
Tomorrow's just an excuse
And you can make it last, forever you
You can make it last, forever you

Brian Adams: Heaven. I know, this song is pretty cheezy, but I have great memories of being wasted at a friends wedding while Hardin and I were flinging eachother across the dance floor. We were so drunk....we were trying to choreograph it. That same night my friend and i had a contest to see how many of those candy covered almonds that are always at weddings we could fit into our bra. Ahh...memories....

Jesus Loves Me.

If you knew me before I accepted The Christ, you would say, how in the world could anyone love him?

Thanks for the post dharmagrl.

The King of Hearts by Randy Stonehill.

[I can work out a song, in 10 minutes flat. The chords to this one took me 25 years to figure out...]

All alone drifting wild
Like a ship that's lost out on the ocean
Everyone's a homeless child
And it's not hard to understand
Why we need a Father's hand

There's a rainbow somewhere
You were born to be there
You're just running in circles
Till you reach out your hand to the King of hearts.

Pockets full of pain and fear
That's a load there's just no need to carry
Let it go and leave it here
Now there's no price that's left to pay
With one more mile or one more day

There's a rainbow somewhere
You were born to be there
You're just running in circles
Till you reach out your hand to the King of hearts.

You can try to catch the wind
But in the end you're only
Wasting precious time
Life can really be so kind
Once you find the truth and follow,
go on follow, go on follow

(Repeat 1st Verse)

There's a rainbow somewhere
You were born to be there
You're just running in circles
Till you reach out your hand
Till you reach out your hand
Till you reach out your hand to the King of hearts

There's a rainbow somewhere
There's a rainbow somewhere
There's a rainbow somewhere

Though I could not find a link to an Mp3 for this song, I could send it too you if you like - however there are three mp3 downloads from his latest CD: Edge of the World - 'That's the way it goes' is one I do at gigs, enjoy

Oh, yeah did you check out my tribute to Madiba

This one....it's mine and DH's song, from before we ever even met face to face.....

Because you love me

JoDee Messina

I don't know how I survived

In this cold and empty world

For all this time

I only know that I'm alive

Because you love me

When I recall what I've been through

There's some things

That I wish I didn't do

Now I do the things I do

Because you love me

And now that you're in my life

I'm so glad I'm alive

'Cause you showed me the way

And I know now how good it can be

Because You love me

And now that you're in my life

Oh, I'm so glad I'm alive

'Cause you showed me the way

And I know now how good it can be

Because you love me

I believe in things unseen

I believe in the message of a dream

And I believe in what you are

Because you love me

With all my heart and all my soul

I'm loving you and I never will let go

And every day I'll let it show

Because you love me

Because you love me

Because you love me

Gorecki by Lamb

If I should die this very moment
I wouldn't fear
For I've never known completeness
Like being here
Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you
Still in my heart this moment
Or it might burst
Could we stay right here
Until the end of time until the earth stops turning
Wanna love you until the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for

All this time I've loved you
And never known your face
All this time I've missed you
And searched this human race
Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs
Wanna stay right here
Until the end of time
'Til the earth stops turning
Gonna love you until the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for

The one I've waited for

All I've known
All I've done
All I've felt was leading to this
All I've known
All I've done
All I've felt was leading to this
Wanna stay right here
'Til the end of time 'till the earth stops turning
I'm gonna love you till the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for
The one I've waited for
The one I've waited for

Wanna stay right here
'Til the end of time 'till the earth stops turning
I'm gonna love you till the seas run dry
I've found the one I've waited for
The one I've waited for
The one I've waited for

Make me melt every time

"Love Stinks." I don't know who wrote it or even who sung it, but it's got to be the most *truthful* love song out there. Plus, every time I hear it I'm reminded of the good times I've had with friends watching "The Wedding Singer."

I'm also "in love" with the Rascal Flatts Version of "Bless the Broken Road"...it *SO* describes my life's path to Ryan:

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

Now I’m just rollin’ home into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you

I have been wracking my brain, and nothing is coming. I really don't like love songs. There are plenty of songs that make me think of my wife, but very few fall into the category of what you would really call a love song.

Yes, I am stone-hearted.

Love Stinks is by the J.Geils Band. (I am not sure whether I spelled "Geils" correctly.)
