My 10 year old son knows that I haven't been feeling too hot lately...heck, all the kids know.

Davey is a lot like his dad; he's not good at displaying affection.  Usually he's a straight faced kid who would rather shake hands than give someone a hug.

This afternoon he came up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder.

"Look, I got something for you from the yard!  I found it all by itself!"

And he presents me with a red tulip that he had picked from the back yard and give me a hug.

"Love you, Mom.  Sorry you're not feeling well.  I'm going to try and be better about stuff.  Y'know, not hitting Jake and cleaning my room and stuff".

That, dear readers, was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy day.

He's quite a kid, is Davey.  And I love him.
