My almost 12 year old daughter saved up and bought herself 'The Sims' for PS2 a couple of weeks ago.

I watched her playing for a bit this afternoon.  Her characters were being retards...one of them overflowed the toilet, then slipped in the water on the floor and hit their head, and the other one caught themselves on fire whilst using the stove.  She didn't try to save herself, she just stood there and burned to death.

I asked Shea if her characters were..."all there".  She said "No, I made them as dumb as I possibly could and named them Jessica and Ashlee Simpson"

Ah hahahahahahaahahahahahah!!  Man, I have weird kids!!

I have a 10 and a 8 year old....I'm not sure I want to know what I have in store for me!  They're already making themselves tinfoil hats ....!

LMFAO. C'mon, Mom! That's solid gold!

Now if we could only lure the real Jessica Simpson into a kitchen....

Wow, dharma.

I'd give you an "insightful" for this post, if you had any way to pass it on to your daughter...lol

(for the record, Jessica Simpson's mom alleges that Jessica has an IQ of 160, and just plays the "dumb blonde" bit to get guys...from what little I have seen, I find that highly unlikely).

I thought so too.  I was impressed, to be honest...

...I'd like to see her spontaineously combust as well.  I'm dreading the advent of 'the nick and jessica show'.

Oh please...that's probably the MOST unlikely thing I can think of.  She might have an IQ of 160 when it comes to recognizing Louis Vuitton merchandise....!

I think mom put the decimal point in the wrong place personally...lol

Thanks Miggy.  She's a good kid...very imaginative.  I'll see if she'll let me publish some of her poems and haiku's...she's not very confident in her abilities yet, but....I think that seeing people's reactions to her work might be the best confidence boost she's had yet.

My almost 12 yr old daughter creates Sim families just to start fires and watch them burn up....I'm wondering if she's a closet pyromaniac or something!  Now, she does have people that she actually plays the game with the way it was meant to be played, but when she's had a really bad day, she'll get the game and say "I just feel like burning someone up, Mom!"

And as for Shea being ....odd.....she IS her mother's daughter, after all!!!

Wow, that's great Dharma! Your little girl is so smart. She already knows who the stupid ones are. . She's not that weird afterall. I play the sims and find it quite funny to watch them catch the place on fire or overflow the toilet. lol.

Very preceptive, your kids are.

And the great thing about poetry, haikus in particular, is that they don't neccessarily need to make sense. Haikus just need the right amount of syllables and needs to "sound" beautiful. Actual, professional haiku sounds so pointless and make little sense.

Seems that Shea's not the only one that does this, then....that's good, I think!

Yes, she does....and she's too smart for her own good sometimes.

Very preceptive, your kids are.

Again, I'm not sure that's a good thing at their age.....seriously, I'm glad thay're aware of what's going on around them.  Makes my life a whole lot easier!

Thanks for the comments!
