I thought that everyone on JU ought to go take a look at what's being said about us over on Petey's site.  As much as I hate to give him traffic, I feel that the bloggers here at 'site x' ought to know what's being said about them:

It seems that there are folks there who are particulary two faced, doesn't it?  I detest that.  But, now I know......

I dont see anyone on those forums who are two faced - it's all been stated down the line the whole time...

No offense, but I think you're mistaken dharmagrl. They're talking about some other site called Site X, not JoeUser.com.
on Aug 02, 2004
Site X is this site.

And in a small way, I believe they may have a point...

Being able to express your opinions and getting real conversation and/or compelling and rational discussion is a main reason I started to blog. Sometimes this place sounds just like a chat room.

But anyway, everyone does what they like.

Peace,

Beebes

Just like you can't see why petey can be offensive to some people, right?

Joseph - I'm going to take your comment in the ironic/sarcastic way it was meant.

Death-by-beebles: I'll agree that this place is reminiscent of a message board at times, but....I'm still here, and so are you.

I can see exactly why Sir Peter is offensive to some people - I am not an imbecile... It's just up to them to take offense from a blog, or not... have you ever actually tried to have a conversation with Sir Peter? I mean, actually responded to anything he has said with rationale and civility? I am quite homosexual friendly, yet Sir Peter still accepts me, I am able to respond to his comments in a civil fashion though, instead of just hatred and disbeleif...

I will say it again - blogging is supposed to be fun - there will always be people with different agenda's, it's up to you to make it the best experience you can make it... because, they aren't going anywhere, and neither should you be forced to go anywhere either.

Yes, I have.  I started the idea for the 'Friends of Sir Peter' back in..oh, March, I do believe.  I've written articles about him, I wrote a testimonial for his website when it was first up...so yeah, Muggaz, I have tried being civil.  My thanks for that was getting called a 'vile woman', him suggesting that he and my husband should go fuck some whores when we went to England.....that I especially didn't need, not at the time he said it.  I used to speak to him away from JU as well....not any more.

As for blogging being fun...if you get your kicks from being nasty and insensitive to other people 100% of the time, then yeah, it's tons of fun.  For those of us who have the scorn poured on us, well, it's not such a joyride.

@ LW......

True, that.

It makes me upset that people let Sir Peter sully their blogging experience... however, it's not mine, or your responsibility to make sure every blogger is emotionally stable...

It's only scorn if you let it be scorn... I know i can say that a lot... I also speak from experience... so many things are said say to day on these forums that would have the old Mugz seeing red mist - surely you yourself can testify to this... even this article is a classic example... you are morons and trailer trash if you say it... not anyone else.... dont worry what other people think of you Dharma... they dont do it much anyway.

I feel ridiculous sprouting all these life lessons to people who are much older than me, but come on... who cares what some other blogger says - especially a parody.

I'm not worried what petey and anthony and tech cat think about me.  I could care less, to be honest. I was referring more to other people than myself with that 'scorn' remark.

i just wish that they'd get my name right when they quote me over there.  it'd be more traffic for my blog..and more of the precious points they've been whining about for me!

oh, and one more thing - he may be a parody, but theres still a real person behind the parody, writing and thinking up these things for the character to say and do.

on Aug 02, 2004
Ok, cool, cool, we are all cool... you are not going to get over the parody, and I am not going to get over the fact you cant get over it as a parody, so we will leave it at that...

Just out of interest Dharma, who is two faced?

LW,

Don't feel bad. I'm one of those that Petey dislikes because he thinks I know all of you personally and that's why I get points. What he doesn't realize is:

1) the majority of my blogs receive one or fewer comments
2) my ratio of non featured articles to featured articles is about 12:1
3) I have four times as many comments as I do articles; that is how I generate points and traffic
4) I know NONE of you in real life (that I know of)
5) I try to make my articles cover a wide variety of interests (that inane "Mary Kate" article I wrote as a newby keeps coming back to haunt me; I just can't kill it out of vanity for the points it generates)

What I have attempted to do is to come in and show my merit and skill as a writer. I believe it has done so, and quite frankly, the confidence I have gained by blogging on this site has been a good springboard towards my attempting to become a "real" writer.

sorry for hijacking your thread (hehehe...but it'll get ya points...lol)

Ta hell wid em. I thought Peter was funny at first, but he got real old real fast. Now I just ignore his ravings and the platitudes that his supporters pile upon him. I will say that I've lost a lot of respect for those people that should know better but continue to encourage him. But all that means is there are fewer people whose articles I bother to read.

A lot of people can learn from you CS Guy... Frankly, I dont give a crap if I have lost your respect, I am still having fun, and you are still having fun, that's all that matters.
