Well, I did it.

I got a Monroe.

I almost chickened out, I drove around town for ages after having spoken with Peggy, my piercer this morning. I came home, emailed Dave to make sure it was okey doke with him...then went back, paid the money and got it done.

Anyone who tell you it hurts is lying to you. This had to be the most pain - LESS piercing I've ever had (and I've had a few, some in some pretty darn sensitive places) All I felt was pressure, no pain at all really.

Now my lip is swollen a bit, but she put long enough hardware in to accomodate for that. I go back in a week and she'll change it out for a smaller one...FREE OF CHARGE!!! How awesome is that?!!

I also saw some jewellery that she had in her store...really fine, dainty little gems, exactly what I want to wear when it's all healed...

Anyway, I got it done, it didn't hurt, I'm icing it now and it throbs a bit, but not too bad....and I'm pretty pleased with it thus far.

I'll post pics when the swelling's gone down a bit.

Yay for me!! I got pierced!!!

Yes, werewolf, that's it. That WAS it...the monroe is no more.  It drove me nuts #1, it kept catching on my gumline, and #2 it got infected.  i had to see my doctor a couple of days afterwards (for a migraine) and the first thing he said when he saw me was "That's infected.  You ought to take it out" I, not having a MD myself, decided to defer to his experience and education and dutifully took it out.

dharma, I have known werewolf (he commented earlier in this article) for quite awhile now.  I met him on WinCustomize.com (another Stardock website).  He is a really nice guy, and it looks like he likes your blog since he commented on it in his first article.  Hopefully he will become a regular JU visitor.
